Springtime Surprise Weekend 2024 (April 18-21)

We all are unique in motivations, I could switch this around and say "If I want to try and PR, I need to do it on a course with distractions." For me, Disney routes are great to PR because the distractions and unique environments can get you through some tough patches that are likely in a PR...

Springtime Surprise Weekend 2024 (April 18-21)

I would be surprised if they did on this one. Forecast is ~72F by time balloon ladies finish, does not seem terrible.

Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend (Oct. 31-Nov. 3, 2024)

I had an issue one race with RD not being able to verify with the link I provided and was put in last start group. Was able to go to runner relations at bib pickup and they corrected it for me.

10 on the UV index. The last few months have been glorious for FL running in the morning, but things are changing this week.

Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend (Oct. 31-Nov. 3, 2024)

Well that was painful. I just finished registering multiple people but at first did not look like it would do it, but I tried a couple times and finally allowed it.

And a good majority of those I have seen at the end of the marathon have no business operating a vehicle a short time after running 26.2 miles.

    Proof of Time Question

This year I started at the back of C, and would have run a bit slower than your pace. It was well after mile 4 before it cleared up enough to run at that pace, a few areas were you could weave around but many areas you would be just going along at the pace of the pack which in this case would...

    Marathon Weekend 2024

We have stayed at a Skyliner resort last couple of races. Family takes that to Epcot and watches around the Boardwalk, it is nice at that location because it is late in the race and family can sleep in a bit before getting out. If they have tickets they could also go in Epcot and watch through...

    Marathon Weekend 2024

The real question is after 26.2 miles can you walk up 3 high steps onto a bus, or if the long uphill ramps of the monorail are more painful. I choose the bus steps :)

Humid? Springtime Surprise would like you to have a word with you.

    Marathon Weekend 2023

Has been great catching up on the board since Sunday and hearing everyone's reports and fantastic efforts in all the races. I had a conference and had to jump on a plane Sunday at MCO (hope no one else had to wait in 80 minute security lines on a Sunday afternoon) so have not been able to get...

    Marathon Weekend 2024

Beach/Yacht is my preferred option for race weekends when a good deal can be found. I like the proximity to Epcot, the BW area dining options, and it is usually great location for family to be there to cheer. For marathon it is around mile 24, so they can sleep later and roll out when I get close.

Is the volunteer shortage hitting the expo and causing these issues?

    Marathon Weekend 2023

The MOST selective group, impressive :) The number of 10k runners seems like a lot, some are going to have a crowded race for the entire time.

    Marathon Weekend 2023

This corresponds to my bib number and where I was placed last year. However the number of those in C seem really large, might be a ClubRD thing and those that bought there way into the group

    Marathon Weekend 2023

This happened to me and many others before. Had to stand in line at expo to get a printed check in pass with bib number. Went fast and not much hassle.
