    Kids at Shula's?

I realize this is an old post, but I just wanted to post our recent experience at Shulas. We live local and the girls (2, 5, and 8) and I decided to take Dad to Shula's for Father's Day. I chose the earliest seating (5 or 5:30, cant remember which) and we enjoyed a lovely meal. As we...

How old to go to pool without an adult?

If questioned about "adult" status of my 14 year old - I would just pull out their park ticket which will clearly state "adult".

Tell me I can do this

I have been a SAHM for the past 7 years. DH ,pays all the bills and handles all the finance, so even though I have a financial backgroud (CPA), the money is HIS baby... I don't even have an ATM card (my own choice b/c I feel a stolen/misplaced ATM card is too big of a risk w/ the girls playing...

    Disney Y.E.S. Program

First of all... Hahahahaha to the suggestion that homeschooled kids should just go during homeschool week. I got a LOL chuckle at that one..... Second of all... "age appropriate" for a homeschooled kids is very often (not always, but very often) a few years ahead of their actual age b/c...

Was there any link to where the FL PAP renewal new price will be??

Ticket Prices Going Up on Sunday!

Our FL Resident PAPs don't expire until 8/12 - so we can't renew until 7.12 We have 2 kids tickets - with the price increase - I wonder if it would make sense to get a PAP voucher for the kids to redeem in August when our passes expire (for the 2 adults, I figure it will be a wash between the...

Does the whole family need Platinum Passes?

YOu would be fine for parking/discounts -but not for preferred seating. We were asked more than 1x how many preferred passes we had in our party (all were preferred) when we went for the seating.

    Screaming Child at resorts

Seriously, I wouldn't worry about it at all. Your little one is likely to be so stimulated on your trip that sleep won't be an issue. I am 3 kids (6, 4, and 1) and they ALL have been bad sleepers - but never at WDW - they are simply too tired! The only sleep problem I can think of in 9+...

disney credit card for 16 year old if cosign?

For sure do an authorized card on your account as opposed to a prepaid card (unless you plan on putting less than $100 or so on it) - you have *much* more protection if the card is lost or stolen. And personally, this goes for adults too. Even responsible adults can accidentally misplace...

    Homework at Disney World

Just curious - do death certificates take as long to produce as birth certificates? It was always several weeks before I got the "official state birth certificate" for my kids. Sure, I had "proof of birth", but it sounds like PPs school wanted a copy of the official certificate. (Yes, I...

    Im Confused

YOu've been given some really good advice here - let me share a little more with you - You are going to be 15 - before you (and your parents) know it you will be off to college and then your "family life" will be different forever. You (and your parents) have **very** few family vacations...

    Homework at Disney World

Thanks Traci :-) It just sort of fell into our lap- so I can't take much credit there but I have found I have gotten very spoiled by running our own schedule! :-) We actually do a virtual school - so we do have some accountability but a ton of flexibility. I just get so frustrated on behalf...

    Homework at Disney World

These posts make me sooooo glad we homeschool! :-) I would not do well at all "answering" to an elementary teacher regardign when we go on a family vacation or what we will spend our time doing when we are there! :-)

Am I crazy for considering this?

We took our first to WDW (2.5 hour flight - met my DH down there so I flew alone with her) the day she turned 3 months. By then - I **NEEDED** a vacation! :-) It was an awesome trip - traveling with a newborn breastfed baby is so easy- and it will really be your last chance in a long time to...

Not even a brain tumor can keep me away from WDW!

If it is any consolation - I cried several times yesterday because it is only 2 weeks until my youngest's 1st birthday - and I am just **not** ready for her to not be a little baby anymore! But... I was feeling a little better today and guess what? After trying unsucessfully for 3 weeks, I...

Oh WDW tickets.... why are you so expensive...

OP- the ticket price increases FAR exceeded any short term interest rate you would get on your money. If you KNOW you are going to go SOMEDAY again, buying tickets was a much better "investment" than a savings account or short term CD. Now.... if you (speaking generally) have credit card...

    Are my feelings justified?

I get what you are saying, but I think you are all getting a little too irriated by about $7. If your bill was 12 and $1.50 of it was yours - that leaves 10.50 they "spent". You had to figure theirs would be at LEAST an incremental $3 (1.5x2) and that's if they ordered the SAME .THING as...

I need help and advice--teen issue

HIPPO- I wouldn't take the trip away. What she NEEDS now is to connect with her family, not to feel alienated from them. Grounded when she gets home - maybe no extra spending money - but she goes, and has a great time - even if it kills her to be lovign and cheerful!:)
