Please help me understand the pre-paid gratuity...

When I booked our cruise, my TA and I couldn't figure out why it came out $100+ more when she confirmed it through DCL. When I got my cruise docs, it said I had pre-paid gratuities...my TA wasn't aware that's where the extra charge came from until then. Glad it's paid for and just one less thing...

April 22, 2016 Disney Dream cruise meet

My family will be on this cruise, too: DH, DD (23) and me! This is our 5th Disney cruise and the 2nd on the Dream. Wonder was our home on the other cruises. Really looking forward to getting back on the ship and meeting some new folks.

    Free tax return program?

AARP has a tax prep that is open to everyone and totally free. I keep children as well as my DH work, pension and such and never have a problem getting it done. E-filed and money in the bank in about 1 week. Check under AARP Taxaide.

    Cordinated outfits?

We coordinate our shirts for embarkation day just to make the pic look nice. When we do more formal pics on the ship, we at least try just keep it similar. And yes, I guess it is the moms who do this most of the time, but my 23 DD asked about our shirts and wanted one just like mine.

How much to pay dog sitter?

Boy, my DD is super cheap. I had to convince her to raise her rates a few years back from $5 per day-period! Now she charges $7 per night per animal and the dogs come to our house. That way they are never alone in case of fire/break in/accident. I've got one beside me right now that is on day 16...

    Adding Military Tickets to MDE

I wish you had been around when I was trying to link mine! My DD finally pointed out the Older Ticket part and it was smooth sailing after that:)

Is the Frozen meet and greet REALLY 200+ mins?

My DD and I were in line yesterday (May 15) no later than 8:15 and it said 300 minutes at that point. Remember, the time is from the the point of the entrance not the end of the line (if that makes any sense). All that said, it was almost 11:45 when we got out of there. The photographer actually...

    Shades of Green and Fastpass+

I've made all the FP+ ressies with the Military Salute tickets and will let you know how they worked out when we get back. Going this month...can't wait. It took no time at all to get a photo copy of the back of our tickets so we could link the tickets. They even called to make sure of the...

pro's and con's of transferring your reservation to a Travel Agent

I've used a TA every time and never had a problem. I needed to changed those ressies when the new dates came out. My TA sent an email with all the information she had 2 days before the general dates came out so she could make changes ASAP. I didn't contact her until last 11:15 last night, she...

    Nassau safety

We've been there 4 times and I don't remember ever feeling unsafe. Even when I was there alone, it wasn't uncomfortable to me. I surprised my DH and DD by using a local tour guide instead of a ship tour. They can be intimidating, but they are just trying to make a living.

    May 16th, 2013 - 3 Night Dream

This will be our first family vacation in 3 yrs. My DH has managed to be sick each year and used all his sick and vacation times! He's really excited just to be out of TN for a change!:) We're trying to cram way too much into the days before the cruise but he'll be happy

    May 16th, 2013 - 3 Night Dream

Don't think I've checked in with this Meet yet. We're a family of 3 adults (20 yr. DD) We had to change our trip and I'm just hoping that I don't forget anything this time. I've had the nightmare of forgetting the passport already... This is our 4th cruise, but our 1st time on the Dream. Can't wait!

    Official SHADES OF GREEN Information

Welcome to the Dis! SOG is a good choice with children. DD was five when she made her first visit and now, at 19 she refers to SOG as "going home." It is a very quiet resort compared to what I've seen at the other resorts--but it is out of being respectful of the other guests more than...

Does "lead person" on reservation matter?

Getting ready for our 4th cruise and I've always been listed as lead person. My DH is lead on the credit card, so not sure how this works out.

Size of luggage that can fit under bed on Wonder?

Don't panic. I couldn't fit our suitcases under the bed at all. It was the rolling type and the largest was just too big. We packed them inside each other and stood it in the closet. No problem at all.

How can you afford multiple cruises?!?!

Our very first cruise, I booked 17 months in advance and saved like crazy. While on the ship, I booked the second getting the discount and OBC. I swore up and down that I would not book another one while when we sailed, but only having to put down $100 per person sold me on the third one. And...

The NEW Official SHADES OF GREEN Information (YouTube Video Info in 1st Post)

Guess we were typing about the same time. I'm glad someone decorated, just never have seen it.:goodvibes Sounds like a good idea. Wonder if they would freak on us if people started doing that? As long as it isn't taped I don't think they would have anything to complain about.

The NEW Official SHADES OF GREEN Information (YouTube Video Info in 1st Post)

I don't remember seeing any type of decorations on room doors at SOG, it would be nice though, wouldn't it? If you make arrangements for the rental, after you disembark you can call and the rental company will pick you up. I know Avis will so I'm sure that any car rental place at Port...
