For Rent - Final 12 BLT points @ $17 per point - Use by September 2022

I assume you have a September/October UY? Do you have any points available for transfer for the 2022/2023 year? I'm looking for 100-110 BLT points (preferably September UY or later - to coincide with mine). Must be bankable to 2023/2024. We are Canadian, so I need flexibility in case...

    June 2022 car rental

Do you know that Alamo doesn't have a Standard aisle, so you automatically get a Fullsize car when you book a Standard? If it's the same price, no biggie, but if the Standard is cheaper then you are paying more for nothing. The last three "Standard" cars we have booked have been minivans or...

    June 2022 car rental

We decided not to partake in the Budget chaos and just pay the extra for Alamo. I've been checking daily for a few weeks now and have re-booked several times. Currently booked for $565.26 for 10 days (including fuel option) in a Standard (free upgrade to Fullsize with no Standard aisle). Way...

    August 2020 Car Rental!

It's always been that way. When you do the search, it just shows you all the categories that they offer. It's not specific to your location. We have always rented a "standard" and got to pick from the fullsize aisle. The last three trips we have had two minivans (one with 3 miles on it), and...

    May 2019 Car Rental Thread

Our rental went down again this morning. Rebooked a standard car with Alamo, using Costco code and coupon AD8913MJR for $310.88 all-in (incl. fuel option) for May 2-13.

    Using Canadian Disney Gift Cards

It's not just the foreign transaction fee. All Canadian banks charge a percentage above the actual rate. So if the rate is $1.35CAD/USD, CIBC may charge $1.37, BMO may be $1.38, and then they add the 2.5% foreign transaction fee on top of that. You're never getting the straight exchange rate...

    Westjet companion vouchers

No it doesn't. We used our companion voucher to fly one way from YYZ to MCO. We flew back using Air Canada. They questioned why I would want to "waste" it, but flying home Air Canada had better times and was still cheaper than flying both directions with Westjet.

    Disney Gift Cards

The easiest way is to load up a gift card at Shoppers and they will charge you the day prior's exchange rate. I went online to see what the exchange rate was, converted what my DVC dues would be in CDN, added that amount to a Gift Card at Shoppers and paid my dues. I got the exact same rate as...

For all the teachers out there...

We have taken our son out at least once, sometimes twice, a year since he was in grade 2. He will miss anywhere from 6 to 12 days of school. We try for early fall (September) and spring (April/May/June). Once he entered grade 7, we limited it to 1 trip and he had to prove he could keep up...

    CBR or CSR

Also... we have stayed at CBR once and will never, ever stay there again. We had the WORST housekeeping experience we have ever had on site... hair everywhere, sticky stuff in the sink and on the sheets, black dust everywhere, and housekeeping left our door open. We came back from Epcot and...

    CBR or CSR

CSR hands down. It's the most deluxe feeling moderate Disney has. The construction won't interfere with your stay at all. We have stayed in Cabanas and Ranchos. I preferred Ranchos - found it quieter. I also liked the quiet pool there, and it was only a short walk to the main pool. Of...

    May 2019 Car Rental Thread

That's one benefit to owning or renting DVC points.. no parking fees! My husband refuses to take a bus on vacation. He says we don't take one in real life - we're not taking one on vacation :car:

I didn't see one when searching. Starting to watch the numbers now, but holy cow they're crazy! We only book with Alamo, so hoping some great discounts come out between now and May!

    April 2019 Rental Car Thread

We are looking for May 2-12, but usually discounts for April apply for May.. hopefully something comes out. We just got back last week from a week long stay. Paid $245 for 7 nights (including pre-paid fuel) for a Fullsize at Alamo (it was cheaper than the Standard) and ended up with a brand...

    AUGUST 2018 Car rental watch

For those who used Alamo and are having issues with online checkin. I was also having these issues, so I called Alamo because new rates were higher than what I had locked in. They confirmed my reservation is still good, but that they had been having issues like this for anyone who was trying...

    AUGUST 2018 Car rental watch

Just used Autoslash to get Alamo rates. It directed me to Priceline for booking. I used the Contract ID: 7014627 and Coupon Code: AD2365FDN from Priceline directly on the Alamo website. It appears this is a Costco/Alamo Insiders savings of $30, so it includes an additional driver and you have...

Upgrading Canadian Resident Tickets to AP

The trick to not losing your discount is to use the ticket at least once before you upgrade. Once you've used the ticket, there's no way for the system to tell the difference between it being a discounted ticket and a regular ticket. You will get the value of the ticket as of the day you...
