    Chocolate!

It's the US... We can get practically anything here, but that doesn't mean the recipient's have. All of your choices will be appreciated. Anyone who has already tried them will know they are special & anyone who hasn't will get something new. Win-Win as far as I think. I do like the sound...

Mid ship deck 8 cabins family deluxe

We stayed on the starboard side delux on 8 & had zero issues. Super location as far as I was concerned. Room #8516 We did hear some noise from the deck overhead, but nothing worth worrying about.

    Houston to Galveston

The way you are doing it should be fine. The airport area is like any other in any big city. No one likes to live or work next to one, so the kinds of business & homes you get are Loud, dirty or marginal. The CI&S is close to the airport & will be an easy shuttle to the boat the next day...

14 night cruise too long for little ones?

I'm taking my 4 year old (3.5 now) on the EBTA. Not worried at all. Besides what the ship will offer, we'll have an IPad loaded with games & movies, as few additional toys as possible (when 2.5 he went on the Alaska cruise & 1 backpack of toys did the job), multiple swim suits & a set of...

All Things Galveston (Updated - 5/21/14)

Enterprise is right at 61st & I45/Broaday. Not far from the terminal, but... Bike week is a traffic nightmare. I would budget more than an hour to get the 30 blocks. Try & arrange the cab to be at the Enterprise at a certain time? What day/time is the departure? Are you driving in that...

    Mystery Stairs on Wonder/Magic?

Mmouse37 & Truck1, you got it. Thanks! Me & DS are short-cut & "secret mission" types, so lesser know stairs up to the buffet would be fun. Any other odd spots that you can thinks of? What are the large glass windows on the lower portion of the stern on Dream & Fantany? Just above the...

All Things Galveston (Updated - 5/21/14)

As far as location, both of are good choices. I've never been inside either. Adjacent to lots of restaurants & activities. Close to Walmart for last minute supplies & Spec's on 61st street, great liquor store. Moody Gardens Rain Forest & aquarium pyramids are worth the effort, in my opinion...

All Things Galveston (Updated - 5/21/14)

The putt putt place is an old school, amazing place. We go quite a lot. The best time is at night when everything is lit up. The rear course is totally under a canopy of thick trees & is like a jungle. Giant shells, a multi story castle, huge pirate ship, a giant snake, interesting holes...

    Mystery Stairs on Wonder/Magic?

Except for the ones indicated from inside the buffet on 9 to 8, they aren't on the deck plans. So I called them "mystery stairs" But there were definitely additional stairs going down from 8 to 7 at the very aft of the hallways. They were right across from the doors to the rear observation...

    Mystery Stairs on Wonder/Magic?

I was exploring the Wonder & there were several sets of stairs at the very rear of the decks. On the deck plans I can see the pair that lead from Topsiders on 9 to 8. I think a second set led from 8 to 7, directly across the doors to the rear observation deck. But I seem to remember more...

    Life jacket solution for toddler?

Not to sound like a broken record, but the Stearns Puddle Jumpers are Coast Guard approved life vests. As far as infants, I'm not certain what works best or what DCL has on board for emergencys? :stitch2:

All Things Galveston (Updated - 5/21/14)

If you stay at any of the above places an absent car will be no problem. Lots to do all over & "town" part of the island just isn't that big. Lots of taxis, shuttles, bike rentals, horse carriages & even bike cabs when the boats are in.

    Life jacket solution for toddler?

We have the Stearns Puddle jumper since our DS was 18 months. I don't remember his exact weight, but he was under 30lbs. I cannot say enough good things about this vest. Our sons confidence in the H2O is a direct result. We took it on our DCL Alaska cruise. He was a great swimmer by then &...

    Galveston pre-cruise?

No specifics about hotels, but everything downtown or in The Strand area is walking distance. Anything on The Seawall is a very short cab, if the hotel doesn't have a van or shuttle. Galveston just isn't really a big city, we ride bikes everywhere. Lots to do if you show up a day early, very...
