If you were staying one mile to DL, would you walk or drive?

Uber or drive. You'll walk anywhere between 6-12 miles going between parks or DTD, so save your feet!

    My Dream Suite tour

My work team got to take a tour of the Disneyland Dream Suite a few weeks ago. This has been at the top of my Disney Parks bucket list ahead of Club 33 for many years, and excited to share some photos of the tour.

My day with a "Plaid" (VIP guide)

Yes, you have to de-board the rides and re-enter the FP line. In 7 hours (we broke for lunch and had to answer a lot of scavenger hunt questions in between rides), we rode: TSMM (walked on) Soarin (10 min wait) TOT (10 min wait) RSR (15 min wait) Space Mountain (10 min wait) BTMRR (5...

Do people tell you "You are going there, AGAIN?"

My wife and I go about once a month, it doesn't get old. I'm obsessed with DLR and hope to support it one day in my career, so it is more than just a theme park in my eyes. I love interacting with guests. I go there for much more than rides and food. I observe best practices, I pick up on...

My day with a "Plaid" (VIP guide)

Yes, that was probably us! We had 16 groups of 10 people each... so you should have seen a lot of us during the day. :) Here's the new DI logo that we had on our shirts. You're all correct, I personally didn't pay for the service, it was paid for by Disney Interactive for a team building...

My day with a "Plaid" (VIP guide)

I didn't say they set their own rates. It is a premium service Disney provides. I'm happy to hear they receive tips for their work.

My day with a "Plaid" (VIP guide)

My team at Disney Interactive (160+ people) was fortunate enough to partake in an all day scavenger hunt at Disneyland and DCA last week. Our teams of 10 people were paired up with a Disneyland VIP guide, or "Plaid" as they are sometimes know due to their dapper vests and attire. Things I...

    Soarin

They should film 20-30 new scenes around California and keep all 13 of the old scenes, then randomize it like Star Tours so there are a ton of scenarios you could experience with each visit so it makes it fresh each time. Limit it to 15 scenes total per ride.

Anything to do for an in memory of?

It's cliche, but toss coins into the moat around Sleeping Beauty's castle. My wife and I do that each visit for good luck.

After a full year of DL AP and 4 trips I'm making some observations...

The first time I saw WOC, I was with my work team in VIP viewing so we had a straight on look and it was amazing. The second time I saw it with my wife, we were also in a straight on location but near the main pathway in the back. Still, not bad given the front facing angle. The third...

    Favorite (non character) Breakfasts?

La Brea is convenient if you're looking outside the parks. Haven't been to Carnation in ages, and want to try River Belle Terrace after this post. Steakhouse 55 also sounds intriguing. I wish Napa Rose or Blue Bayou did breakfast/brunch.

What about the new Starbucks in Downtown Disney?

    More veggies please!

Grilled veggie skewers at Bengal BBQ in Adventure Land, as well as fresh fruits and veggies in the kiosk next to Jungle Cruise entrance, found really fresh grapes there!

"16 awesome hidden gems you must expereince at Disneyland"

*Not for children* If you stand at the entrance to Frontierland and look toward Tomorrowland, and focus on the Partners statue of Walt and Mickey, Mickey's nose looks like Walt's... It's good for a laugh.

"16 awesome hidden gems you must expereince at Disneyland"

Has anyone been able to sit in the DLRR tender seat recently? That would be a dream, my Dad is obsessed with trains and I'd love to surprise him next time he's in DL and put him and my Mom up front. :)

    DLR on Thanksgiving Weekend...

My wife and I took a friend to Disneyland on Thanksgiving Day yesterday. I've been to DL during bad summer crowds and Halloween, and all I read about Thanksgiving was - "one of the worst crowds of the year". Not true. Where I have been used to 60, 75, 90 minute wait times, it didn't come...

Diane Disney Miller, Walt's daugher, dies at age 79

They just announced it at work... here's a great message from Bob Iger: We are deeply saddened by the passing of Diane Disney Miller. She is remembered by Disney fans around the world as the beloved daughter of Walt Disney, and one who graciously shared her family history and personal...

    Rides with the longest lines..Disneyland

Rides that tend to have the longest line no matter what are Toy Story Midway Mania, Nemo Subs, Matterhorn, Soarin', Star Tours, Goofy's Flying School, Peter Pan, Splash Mountain, Indy. They're all slow loaders and/or limited capacity, or they break down a lot (TSMM comes to mind here)...

Not Happy About No-Show Dining Charges

Considering how competitive reservations are, and the fact that 125 million people visit Disney Parks around the world every year, this is how they ensure high sell-through of their tables and allow everyone an assured seat if you have a reservation. It's unfortunate if you can't make it...
