    NO Palo reservations!

If you cant book immediately for Palo, then dont panic. Just ask to be put on the cancellation list and check daily with Palo desk - early in the day. Pretty sure you will be able to get a place during the week. Many people cancel for various reasons.........or simply forget to go!Brunch is just...

    Cozumel

Yes, you are correct - in as much as you need to move away from Cozumel town to enjoy all the destination has to offer. This is something which most guests do not realize until they disembark and are just faced with endless shops and pubs. Best to do your "homework" before you arrive - as is...

East vs. West on the Magic?

Thank goodness...........at last someone who appreciates that THE SHIP is what the holiday should be about...........not just the destinations! :rotfl2: We have done both routes, including two back-to-backs in 2003+2005. The Western doesnt have nearly so much to offer in our opinion, and the...

    Wireless Internet Onboard

So, you pay $1000s for a cruise - then spend much of it on the internet? :rotfl2:

    Cozumel

Like Grand Cayman, Cozumel does not have a great deal to offer - unless you want to eat (which you probably wont, as you will be stuffed full after being on the cruise for a few days) and shopping! Best to take advantage of a tour if you can. Carlos and Charlies is great fun, but who wants to...

    Palo Brunch ??

Palo Brunch is the BEST meal on the Magic! Key West day is wonderful - and not usually full: if you cant get booked on embarkation, then keep checking with Palo desk to see if there are any cancellations. Dont miss it!Nat :sunny:

Tell me about cruising in february (weather, rough seas etc)

We have cruised 6 times in Feb/March and only one week was "disappointing" - that being this year in Feb. That said, we have always returned home with significant tans - which we wouldnt have otherwise got in chilly UK in February! We have many CM pals, and none of them have EVER been...

What if next door neighbors are smoking and you are trying to enjoy verandah?

Unfortunately, there are just some smokers who dont care if they bother other people! We also had problems with "neighbours" on one of our cruises, and I refuse to keep the doors closed when Ive paid good money to enjoy the "sea air"! Wish Disney would make their ships "Non-smoking", but fear it...

    Never Received Postcard from CC

Probably our ONLY complaint of our Disney cruises. We have posted approx 100 cards from Castaway Cay in 6 cruises. At least 10 NEVER arrived. Maybe they have never heard of ENGLAND! HAHA. :rotfl2:

I think I need some help (Palo's, rotation?)

Take my advice and do Palo Brunch before you arrive in Key West! It is just wonderful. The water changes colour on the approach to the harbour, and the views are marvellous. Dinners are also great in Palo.......but ITS DARK! No views! The CMs will all tell you that Palo Brunch is the best...

Palo??? What's the new deal with surcharge and tipping?

No offence taken, of course thank you. Just need to clarify the situation regarding tipping: Final word on the subject, which is ... if you go to Palo, then be sure to budget more than the $10 FEE. This is NOT the Servers "tip".....except for a few cents which goes directly to your server...

Palo??? What's the new deal with surcharge and tipping?

"Palo is sort of "light duty." Some servers are assigned there for medical reasons. In general, it is regarded as a plum assignment as the workload is less than in the dining rooms and the tips are better." If you think an 86hr working week, 6months a year, with NO days off during that...

Palo??? What's the new deal with surcharge and tipping?

Yes, best to ignore the "fee" completely, and when you sign your check, just add whatever "tip" you wish and sign on the dotted line. Your server will get the "extra" over and above the $10 "Disney Booking Fee". Not sure where this idea of "pooled tips" came from? Servers generally just get what...

Palo??? What's the new deal with surcharge and tipping?

The "printed word" of Disney is VERY MISLEADING, and needs to be addressed for the sake of the Servers. Nat

    prayers for you

Thank you so much for your kind words and prayers. Thankfully, our family and friends are safe, although living and working in London. Thank you DISNEY for letting the British crew members call home to see if their loved ones were safe and well. Despite the horrific tally of dead and...

Palo??? What's the new deal with surcharge and tipping?

Just ask your server just HOW MUCH of the $10 is given to the server as "tip"! It is a PATHETICALLY small amount! I do believe that Disney should make this known to guests, as it is a very "grey area" of information available to everyone. Perhaps if enough guests mention this, then things...

Will This Hurt The Cruise Business?

Try travelling outside USA without a passport! $400 for passports for a family of 4? That works out at just $10 per person per year - during the 10yr life of a passport - enabling you world-wide travel. Small price to pay I would have thought for the luxury of seeing the world with as much...

    Passport cost and other ?s

We have always required a valid passport for travel outside the United Kingdom - even into our neighbouring country (France) which is just a few miles from our home. Passports are a necessity, although just as expensive here as in USA. However, they do give you the option of travelling...
