    Aulani Too Hot in August?

Just got back from Aulani. I would say it was a little "toastier" than I would have liked it and than other times I have visited other Hawaiian Islands in the Spring, but certainly not a show-stopper. We went over to the Kualoa Ranch on the windward and more humid side of the island, and it was...

    Beach Chair Rentals

Staying at Aulani in mid-July for the first time. When I have been on other islands, there were stand-alone places to rent those short Tommy Bahama beach chairs and umbrellas for days or the week. It was really nice if you were doing a lot of beach-hopping. On quick glance I don't see any...

Hawaii Tourism Not Starting Up Until Late Summer

Thanks for that info. It looks like as of all flights out of Las Vegas to Honolulu are cancelled through July 15th. My flights on 7/25 and returning 7/31 still exist, so I guess I have to wait until those flights don't show on their booking system before contacting them. This puts me a little...

Hawaii Tourism Not Starting Up Until Late Summer

That's promising news regarding HA giving money back. If you don't mind me asking, were your tickets originally non-refundable?

Hawaii Tourism Not Starting Up Until Late Summer

This testing seems to be an ambitious plan by the Hawaiian Lt Governor. The guy is in local/state government in HI and doesn't wear a Hawaiian shirt when he speaks on TV, so I am sure his colleagues and constituents don't take him seriously... ;-)

Hawaii Tourism Not Starting Up Until Late Summer

I saw a video from the HI Lieutenant Governor the other day where he was discussing his Travel with Aloha plan or whatever he's calling it to open up the state. He seems to the only one in the administration aggressively pushing a plan (at least publicly) to get things going again, and he's been...

Hawaii Tourism Not Starting Up Until Late Summer

So for my late July trip, i'll go get my test at CVS a few days before. Then on the day of the flight after testing negative, i'll go McCarran airport here in Las Vegas and co-mingle in the terminal with all of the tourists who have been co-mingling with each other in the various hotels and...

Hawaii Tourism Not Starting Up Until Late Summer

As a resident of the Las Vegas Valley I am surprised too. Apparently there are a lot more people showing up than they had planned. On the other side of the coin there are apparently less workers coming back to work than needed because they are making more on unemployment than they would going...

Hawaii Tourism Not Starting Up Until Late Summer

We have a vacation planned for Aulani in late July. I wish that a) the governor would offer more specific guidance instead of just saying he is extending the quarantine past June 30th, and b) that the policies of their major air carrier which transports tourists into the state, Hawaiian...

Which rides did you feel were a total let down after waiting in line?

Our kids are 6 and 7 and they still love going on Heimlich's Train. I actually sort of like it too, line is always short and it is a good sit down break ride, like Little Mermaid. I like WOC better than the fireworks and Fantasmic. The only thing I don't like about is that it is really hard...

How does CA feel about sharing Cars Land?

They should take the RSR and Test Track technology to make an outdoor Indiana Jones Ride at the Animal Kingdom. You could have an indoor component where you go in a cave or something then you can outrun the big rolling rock, then be shot out into the jungle where you speed around avoiding the...

Which rides did you feel were a total let down after waiting in line?

When we went on Autopia last week, we stood on our waiting numbers where you load in the car for several minutes, even the other track had come, unloaded, and departed already and we were still waiting, although some of the first cars had come back. Finally this girl, probably about 10 or so...

Which rides did you feel were a total let down after waiting in line?

Yeah I know I am in the very small minority when it comes to not liking the Peter Pan Ride.

Which rides did you feel were a total let down after waiting in line?

Yeah my favorite part of that Nemo ride was when that hatch opened at the end and I could get off. I was feeling very claustrophobic in there, and I used to go spelunking. The one ride I really don't like the long wait for is Peter Pan. You wait on line forever, then you just zing through the...

What do you take into the parks for the day?

Actually I think you are right, I think they were Anaheim Police. Anyways, sorry, didn't mean to digress the thread. We usually bring in water bottles, fruit snacks for the kids, and perhaps a candy bar. The last two times we have gone I brought this bag with me...

What do you take into the parks for the day?

The security people eluded to it being used to attach an explosive device to something.

What do you take into the parks for the day?

Whatever you do, don't take masking tape into the park. My wife had a roll in her backpack, bc she saw a an idea online to label the inside of your kids clothes with a piece of masking tape with their name on it in case they got lost. For some reason she just left the tape in her backpack. We...

    Alice?

I wonder if that is why they were telling everyone it was slippery. Perhaps we went on it right after you guys. Glad to hear DD5 is A-OK.

    Alice?

I bet that the floor on the teacup ride gets pretty slick when wet. Is that why it goes down? We went on the Mater's Junkyard Jamboree ride in the rain, and that floor was pretty slippery. The CM's were warning everyone that it was slick, and rightfully so. I wouldn't blame them for shutting...

They are asking for ID even for just the 2-day hoppers!

On some of those rides with blacklights I can see my stamp, it is almost always all smeared and illegible. I get stamped again going out, but they just put that on the old one so it ends up just being a green blob. When buying tickets they should give you the option to have your picture taken...
