This was my first Disney cruise and the first cruise ever for my children, an 11-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter. I've enjoyed reading other trip reports and am happy to share our great experience. Sunday We had spent two days in Manhattan, cramming in as much sight-seeing as possible...

I had read mixed reviews on "Villains Tonight," but it was our favorite show of the five-day cruise. Even my sensitive 7-year-old loved it; I was worried she would be frightened. I highly recommend it!

We were just on the Magic. My family of three was seated with a family of two. We are both single parents, both widowed. And we both have 7-year-old daughters. I'm sure the widowed part was by accident, but it was comforting to have that in common. And the girls got along really well.

We were on the Magic last week. The "blow dryer" was just awful -- the worst feature of the entire stateroom. It's more like a vacuum attachment. After about 30 seconds, the handle was almost too hot to hold. I would definitely bring one if you can.

On our 8/5 cruise, we arrived at 11:30. Our official check-in time was 12:30. We had no troubles and were in boarding group 12.

I'm thankful for the feedback on the whale-watching tour. That's the Saint John excursion I've booked, and I've been worried it was overpriced for the experience.

My children (11-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter) and I are counting the days until we set sail! I am a single, widowed mom and look forward to a vacation in which I don't have to do a lot of work! :)
