    PSA: Eyebrow Waxing

Ladies (and men, too), Strip wax can pull off skin, especially if it's too hot (it's actually burning the skin). Make sure to find an aesthetician who uses wax with skin softeners in it (the kind that is pulled off the skin by the wax itself, not strips of muslin or paper). Cirepil is a...

    A question on tipping

We were chatting at work today (day spa/salon) and the subject of tipping came up. There are a few customers who never tip, no matter how much they're spending or what services they receive. I know that it's a cultural thing but I can't convince my coworkers that it's not personal. I hate...

Can anyone figure out this song?

All great suggestions but it's more about the pregnancy itself than the baby. I'm sorry I can't give you more to go on. It wasn't a popular song but every once in a while I'll hear it on Delilah (sappy nighttime radio show).

Can anyone figure out this song?

Nope. That's so funny, I know all the words to Arms Wide Open but I never realized it was about a baby until seeing them in print! I don't know that song by Case but it doesn't seem right - think more cheesy (like Butterfly Kisses). More melodramatic.

Can anyone figure out this song?

Hi everyone. I'm trying to think of a song from about 5 years ago (I think, could be longer) where a man is singing about having a baby. It's like the old Paul Anka song, Having My Baby, but not QUITE as cheesy - it's still pretty sappy, though. It's one of those songs that make new moms...

Is this fad TOTALLY ANNOYING anyone else???

I have a theory here..... I think they blast the music so loud so that parents will agree to anything (sure, sweetie, here's my AMEX card) just so they can get the heck OUT of that store! The darkness helps hide the flimsy materials and the see through t-shirts! God, I'm old. :hippie:

PLEASE help me identify this movie!!!

Did you see it in a theater or was it a tv movie?

    $40 million/year salaries

It doesn't bother me at all. They will pay more in payroll taxes (and property taxes, and luxury taxes and sales taxes and....) in one year than you may pay in your entire lifetime. And these are the people who will never drain the system needing public services like welfare and medicaid. I...

    Hershey Park hotels?

I think it was the Days Inn across the street that we stayed at last year. It was totally fine, nice indoor pool (small but clean), adequate rooms and a nice continental breakfast. Not a ton of frills but perfect for a short stay.

    Music from Wishes

Has anyone been able to find the music to Wishes fireworks on iTunes? I'd really like to use it in a project I'm working on. Any other LEGAL sources for downloading (especially ones that won't fill my computer with junk!!!) ? Thanks.

    Why do people say 'we'

For the same reason grown men wear someone else's jersey. Just in case Tom Brady gets hurt they can grab that guy in section 215 - he's all suited up and ready to play! To be part of something, I guess. I don't understand the amount of time and energy devoted to pro sports but obviously...

    Kelly Ripa

See now, Kelly I like. Regis is past his prime in my opinion. I'm tired of their schtick - Regis talking about himself, blah blah blah, she tells one story, he responds condescendingly and then goes back to him. I think he's a nice man and a great showman, but just too old and out of touch...

March 10 - Anyone else on pins & needles?

March 10 is the day that private high schools usually send out their acceptance/rejection letters. Although DD is trying not to get her hopes up, she's still a wreck. Just wondering if anyone else is hoping for a "big" envelope tomorrow?

    summer rentals on cape cod?

I'm not sure about rental agencies, but may I suggest Dennis, Harwich or Yarmouth with kids that age. Rte. 28 has lots of activities for night time or on those rainy days but it's still close to nice beaches and not a bad drive to P-Town or Hyannis - pretty much centrally located. We prefer...

Anyone struggling with finding high schools?

If my memory serves, I believe Crankyshank is from around my area (I'll send a PM, I prefer to keep my location private). My children are in public school now and most likely will continue (unless we hear a positive result from the one and only private DD's applying to). While it's not the...

Anyone struggling with finding high schools?

Also, I meant to add that as frustrating as it is in lower grades, most high schools do "level" kids and your son will be challenged in honors and AP classes. I think you'll find that once high school comes around, you'll see that there are lots of bright, overachieving kids in your town and...

Anyone struggling with finding high schools?

First of all, take a big, deep breath. I really feel there are much better options than moving your family, lock-stock-and barrel to another country for a high school. I have an 8th grader who is looking at private schools here in MA and has one that her heart is set on. We've applied and are...

    Would you be offended....

If all I had to bring was one casserole dish to someone else's house I'd be psyched - it would be no problem to whip up another dish. I'm hosting full sit down dinner (roast, the works) plus trying to pull my house together for 25 people. Is it a lot of work? Yup. But we do it because it's...

Who ever organized my kids Kindergarten field day needs a lesson

As someone that always gets stuck organizing these things (I always get suckered in when no one else steps forward) I can assure you that these things aren't done to be mean or to exclude kids. Sorry, but this hits a sore spot with me - There's nothing like giving up your personal time and...

    CapeCodder Resort

We've stayed there. The wave pool is pretty cool and the kids really enjoyed it. My only criticism is the lack of space around the pool for parents that don't want to swim - there's these water fountain things that shoot up out of the floor and get the parents wet. Not really a big deal but I...
