We did the Italy one, and it was one of the most enjoyable parts of our trip. The price was actually quite good for all the food/drink that you get.

I was always under the understanding that no A&E perks were given to early breakfast reserveration-holders. Even if you're in the park early, I'm pretty sure you're forced to wait until just after the rope drops in order to get access/service to the Princess Fairytale Hall.

Especially since there will be so many jaded families who arrived at WDW assuming they would be able to meet them.

As mentioned above, ending with the highest quality resort might be the best idea. Think of it this way: As your stay at WDW progresses, you will find yourself more and more exhausted and thereby better able to appreciate a higher resort's amenities(pool, lobby, rest areas, restaurants, bars).
