"Official" 2018 Disney After Hours (DAH) Thread (Now Closed, see New 2019 Thread)

We did dah last year around the same week- there were definitely a noticeably larger number of people this year. Last year we did not wait for anything (at all)- this year Sdmt was 20 minutes around 9:00, Pan had a line, and others were spotty. Still awesome, but not the incredible emptiness...

    Here now MK January 21

It was packed today- but got a lot done early. We were able to do pan, splash, and btmr before 10, then had early fp for sdmt and space. After noon though it was 30 minutes for anything, and it just felt really crowded. Was a good day for a couple hour swim and chill break- then back around 7.

Water Park Help Needed (For tmrw!)

Opened at noon on Wednesday, there were around 100 people in line when we walked over at 11:50.

    Southwest question

Yes, no need to carry a balance. We have had the card a couple years and got the 50,000 points. Their policy on cancelling/modifying flights is a huge plus. Free bags are also nice.

    Ticket question- adding extra days

We have 5 day hoppers for a June trip, is it possible to add days prior to being onsite? We added a few nights and with the fp window opened I wanted to add now so we can make selections for all of our days. Thanks for any insight!

    Disney Quest

We are going in June, purchased tickets in January with water park and hopper. I emailed this week to see if DQ was included and got a reply yes.

MNSSHP and 3rd birthday in the same day. . .are we crazy?

We have done MNSSHP with a two year old, definitely need to get a nap in before the party. We had him sleep until 5 or so, then ate dinner and made it to MK around 6:30. Worst lines are for certain characters, so if you don't think she would really care about that, there are a lot of really...

    Annual Pass Exchange/ Magic Band

Thank you all for the great info!!! We have the green vouchers from a DVC AP purchase and had not been able to link them. I called Disney and was told it could not be done. Just selected "old pass" and used the numbers below the bar code and it linked successfully. FP+ selections made...

    Surprising kids ideas?

We surprised the kids on Christmas day a couple years ago with a scavenger hunt. The last thing they found was a huge present with Mickey balloons and a sign saying "We are going to Disney World". They reacted just like we hoped, but there are a ton of examples on youtube where the reaction is...

    Disney Quest worth the time?

DQ is not free, everyone must pay to get in. If you like video games it is a really good time. We have a 10, 8, and 4 year old and they all love it. If we are there a week we will typically visit 2-3 times for an average of 2 hours per visit. My 4 year old loves the motorcycle racing game...

    Magic Band, Unredeemed AP

Morning all- hoping someone may have experienced this and can help us out. We will be in the World two weeks from today. First night at BC on cash and then next 7 nights at BLT as a DVC reservation. On MDE I was able to customize Magic Bands and we got them a couple days ago. However, when I...

Questions about Typhoon Lagoon & Blizzard Beach

We are from Ohio and have been to both parks in September over the past 5 years. As many PP said both are a lot of fun and have quite a bit to do. In my opinion BB has better slides, but i love the shark reef and wave pool at TL. Crowds are much lower than the summer and if you get there...

going to DTD from parks for lunch

We typically use cabs when going from one of the parks to DTD. Usually costs around $20 with tip.

First timer itinerary - anyone want to critique it for me?

Looks like you will have a great time. Leaving "whatever" days is a wonderful idea...it will let you relax and finish your vacation with what makes you happy. If you are eating at the Poly that first night, you could always hit the campfire on the beach and watch Wishes from there. Great...

    crowd levels September?

We will be there the second week of September as well. Our experiences have always been good, crowds are very manageable. That said, there are still people there and the headliners will have lines mid day. Soarin in particular is usually 60-90 minutes mid day, much better early and late...

    touringplans.com, anyone ever use them?

We have used Touringplans for the past few years. I find the crowd calendar and lines app to be most useful. The wait times are very accurate (more so than posted in my experience) and we really like seeing the FP return times.

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

We went to MNSSHP in September 2011 and had a blast. It does feel crowded when the party starts as everyone is on Main Street. Same feeling during the shows/fireworks in front of the castle. Lines for the rides were next to nothing, but there were very long lines for several of the...

What is your favorite area in each of the parks?

Reading all these replies is great... MK- Its a tie between the People Mover at night (try to make it our first and last ride of a trip), and Splash Mountain during the fireworks. In fall its pretty easy to time, especially with a FP Epcot- Anywhere in the land. Between trips I find...

Christmas Crowds....Am I going to be miserable?

No, we didn't. We were there Dec 29th through Jan 2nd in 2011, and we did see MSEP one night. Mid day in the MK was pretty crazy so we tried to avoid it.
