What's the next Disney classic out of the vault?

It's amazing that in this day and age, Disney keeps going with the 'vault' thing. Why keep new copies of these films out of the hands of families that want to share them with their children? Besides which, for someone motivated enough, they are easily obtainable on Amazon, at yard sales, or by...

    Disney closing Etsy shops?

I know this is an old thread that was recently necro'ed, but... My (this is going to be unpopular) opinion on this is "good for Disney". They need to protect their intellectual property rights. It doesn't matter that someone is trying to make a living off of making crafts using someone...

Suggestions for Vacation Homes/Resorts near Disney

How far do you want to drive? We stay every year in Davenport, which is about a 15-20 minute drive door-to-door. There is a ton of vacation properties that are available for reasonable prices, including 3, 4, and more bedrooms.

Umm, did anyone else see Joe Rohde today?!?

Both. I had to look him up on Wikipedia, so I figured out who was being talked about.

    No email reservations?

Anyone else not receiving emails from dining reservations? I just made a reservation yesterday for O'hana breakfast. The confirmation screen says I will receive an email. Almost 24 hours later and no email. I've always received one in the past. And, no it is not getting caught as spam :)...

Looking for a 3 bedroom rental with private pool

If you don't mind a short (20 minute) drive, take a look at the Davenport area. TONS of houses for rent, most in the 3-4 bedroom range, nearly all with private pools. Have stayed in this town the past two years in a row and plan to do so again this year.

Am I the only one puzzled by Pandora?

There are a number of articles about this very topic. A very good one is at Forbes: http://www.forbes.com/sites/scottmendelson/2014/12/18/avatar-became-the-highest-grossing-film-of-all-time-while-leaving-no-pop-culture-footprint/#19e3fcaa284b I find it fascinating that a movie as huge as...

Wyndham Bonnet Creek Staying off site advise

I don't have experience with Wyndham's sales people because I've always skipped getting the parking pass and then disconnected my room phone, but I can't imagine they could be worse than the Westgate folks :rotfl:

Does WBC have a "best" tower?

Tower 5. Has a lazy river right outside, and it's close to the parking garage between towers 4 and 5.

One hour wait for AK bus

And, that is why you should have a car. I know it sounds snobbish but I dealt with public transportation growing up in NYC and I vowed never again. Granted, we drive to Disney every year so we can't not have a car, but even when we used to fly we'd rent a car. I couldn't imagine coming out of...

What is the weather like in March or April in Orlando?

We go in late April every year. Best time to be in Orlando, in my opinion. High 70's, low 80's, typically very little precipitation. It starts to get really hot mid-May.

Jawas no longer trade at Launch Bay?

I've never seen this before. What did the Jawas trade??

Wyndham Bonnet Creek- tips & helpful information

I did. I thought the guy did a great job. Very friendly, personable, and engaging. I'm usually a cheapskate. I must have been feeling generous that day, because I gave him $10.

    Magic Kingdom on a Sunday??

My only real experience is in the late April/early May timeframe. We specifically avoid MK on Sundays (and Saturdays). It tends to be more crowded than Monday or Tuesday, for example. Crowd calendars at Undercover Tourist for that time period tend to reflect that as well. I've had CM's give...

    Smoking at Disney

First, if this is true, I'll be thrilled. Smoking is a filthy habit and poisons not only your own body, but everyone around you. It has no place in a park like Disney. If you really need a smoke that bad, leave the park and go back to your car to smoke. No car? Go stand out in the parking...

Recommendations for off-site home relatively close to Disney

Definitely further than 7 miles away, but there are tons of rental houses in the Davenport area. We've been staying there the past two years. It's about a 20 minute drive to Disney, but you can't beat the price and the convenience of the houses. Most are 3-4 bedrooms, but there are also...

    Where to play mini golf?

Fantasia Gardens and Winter Summerland are two of the best places, and both are minutes from WBC. They are on the pricey side, being Disney owned, but they also usually tell you your receipt is good for 25% off if you return the next night. For more generic mini-golf experiences, the Pirates...

Chewbacca and Kylo Ren - Advice Needed!

I didn't post the original spoiler, but in that person's defense, the movie has been out for 8 months total, and at least 3 or more on DVD/Blu-Ray. It's all part of the public consciousness. I'd expect that people have seen it, know the spoilers, or just don't care at this point in time.

Chewbacca and Kylo Ren - Advice Needed!

Meh. Kylo Ren was one of the most underwhelming character meet and greets we've ever done. The line moved rapidly. Once we got inside, it was pretty clear why. All the CMs were very abrupt and demanding, almost yelling at people to move. Kylo said some lines (which I never realized until...
