    Disney Fantasy: Favorite Bar?

The Skyline is a super cool bar. We really enjoyed O'Gills too. On our cruise, it was fairly lively & fun. Make sure and go to the adult events at The Tube every night. They are soooo fun and Trevor is a total riot. I still can't believe how much fun we had every night at The Tube!!!

Cool ways to tell kids about cruise?

We took our kids on their first cruise a few years ago & it was a total surprise. We told them we were going on vacation but it was a "surprise" location. We flew to Jacksonville & took a cab to the cruise ship terminal. When we pulled up to the ship, I thought their little eyes were going to...

    Cruiseline Formalwear

We have used this service before, most recently in February 2012 on a Princess cruise. (Disney uses the same company). I did my husband's measurements with a tape measure (and I am no seamstress) & his tux fit fine. It was great coming to our room the first day and voila!!!--formalwear was...

    Over Planners Annonamous

I need one of you over planners to do my planning! I've never been a good planner. Before kids, DH & I would fly to Europe with no plans, a backpack & a "Let's Go Europe" book. Those were the days. I've gotten a little better at planning after I left both boys ski pants at home when we went...

    Olympics on FunnelVision?

I'm taking 10 & 12 yo boys on this trip. They NEVER forget about sports. Ever. I hear that will change once they discover girls, but for right now they love sports.

    Olympics on FunnelVision?

I hope they at least show the Olympics in the evening. We all know if anyone can afford to buy the broadcasts it's Disney. I think watching with an international crowd would be so fun! And I have a couple of little swimmers who want to watch their heroes compete for gold.

For those of you who have cruise other lines....:?

We have cruised Princess, Carnival, RCCL & Celebrity. I disagree with Carnival being a party cruise line. The cruise we took was filled with families. My kids had a wonderful time. I'm sure there are some cruises that are more party intense, but I wouldn't generalize the whole cruise line...

Do we really need 2 days to do Universal Studios/IOA?

Here's what I did: I bought the 2 park 1 day ticket. When I entered the first park, I immediately bought the basic express passes. They are about $35 per pass. I was able to ride EVERYTHING with 8 & 10 year old en tow. DH was back at the convention center attending meetings all day. The basic...

    Simpsons Ride = Motion Sickness?

I am a ride rider (although since having children I can not ride spinning rides anymore) The Simpsons ride is pure fun, very little jolt. I think if you feel sick at any time you could just close your eyes and be fine. Th FJ, however, is a man among boys. I rode that beast and when I...

Do we really need 2 days to do Universal Studios/IOA?

Two days would be ideal, but it's very doable in 1 day if you have an express pass. I did both parks in one day with 2 elementary aged children. I bought express passes for us & we took on the parks. Think: "Release the Hounds!" We did everything from the Hulk & FJ to ET & the Suessland...

Who actually GETS OFF in Nassau??

My children, ages 9 & 11, absolutely adore Atlantis, so when we have cruised in the past, we always get off & go to Atlantis for the day. Would I go to Atlantis again? Yes! After the tiny, overcrowded pools on a cruise ship, the huge (nearly empty) pools at Atlantis are heaven. We really like...

    Calorie counts for the restaurants

There is an arcade across the street from the Hulk. Send the coaster wimps in there & do the singles line. The Hulk is worth it!

Required to put bags in lockers?

The lockers are all outside the ride lines. During my first Universal experience I had the same "you have got to be kidding me" outlook regarding the lockers. Once I experienced the locker set up & the rides they're required for (wow), I am totally fine with the whole process. It's so not a big...

7 night Fantasy AND Disney World?

We are doing 2 days at Universal before our 7 night Fantasy cruise & then 1 night at the Disney Swan/Dolphin to relax post cruise. Can't wait!

Will I be able to book excursions? 1st timer

I'm a first time DCL cruiser. When my 75 day window opened, I was able to get both a Palo reservation and an excursion. The only reason I booked my excursion through DCL is because we are at port for an extremely short time. I think it's a much better value to book your excursion from a local...

Clash of the Theme Parks Article - Universal vs. Disney

I have to agree, while I don't dislike WDW, I enjoy DL much more. I hate all of that time trying to get from park to park at WDW. I think Fantasyland at DL is truly whimsical & magical. I like strolling across the walkway to enter CA after spending the morning at DL. IMHO, it is easier to enjoy...

    grand cayman, costa maya, cozumel

We are on the Western in August with 2 kids, 10 & 12. We are seeing the ruins in Costa Maya (just because we've never been, so why not). In Grand Cayman we are going to Stingray City. We booked through Stingray Sailings. In Cozumel we are just taking a taxi to a beach, probably Paradise Beach...
