Ot ~ What's your go to crockpot meal?

Bottom roast with one can of cream of mushroom soup and one envelope of Lipton Onion Soup mix. Cook on low 8-9 hours. It makes the most amazing gravy. I serve with cut up potatoes and carrots. It's a Sunday type dinner with a Monday type effort.

How long do you kids have to ride the bus? Whiney rant.

Wow...almost 3 hours a day on a bus and school officials think that's acceptable?? I have been very lucky. The most time my kids spend on the bus is about 20 minutes which gets them to school with a good 10 minute window to get settled for the day. One year, due to different drop offs and school...

Post your crazy school supply item here.

I love shopping for school supplies with my 3 girls. It gets them hyped up and excited for school. I guess I've been lucky as I've never had a problem with a teacher taking my kids' supplies and redistributing the items. In fact, prior to 3rd grade, I only had to buy a backpack and homework...

Food & Wine & Friends, or 'Wishing a Year Away'. October 2012 PTR *NEW 11/18 TR link!

Another MA resident here and I'm joining in very late but I've been enjoying your TR's and PTR all weekend! But, reading them is making me really wish I had been as "into" Disney before DH and I had kids as I am now. We had a good 6 years that we could have been hanging out in Epcot, trying out...

Port Orleans Riverside FAQ thread --- 2012, Part Two --- NOW CLOSED

DH and I are currently planning on a trip in April of next year. We are seriously considering POR for our first on-site stay! I know that prices are not available online right now, but I'm wondering if I should call and book a room now? We need a room with a Murphy bed as we are a family of 5...

Cape Cod - Martha's Vineyard Help

Glad to hear the water is pretty warm. We are renting for a week in July and I despise the freezing water. As someone who spent her summers in the water in Maine, I should be used to it, but after having my third child, I just can't take the cold water. I'm even more excited for my vacation...

For those in the northeast- where are u vacationing this summer?

We've done the White Mountains before and we all enjoyed it quite a bit. The kids loved Santa's Village and Storyland. Laconia, NH is a great spot for all sorts of activities as well. This year we are renting a place in Eastham. The prices didn't seem higher to me than last year though...

OT Will minor child's wage affect mom's SSI

It's more than just this program that keeps people from working. People keep themselves from working, otherwise, we'd all be on services instead of going to work and earning our own living. Personal responsibility comes into play. There are plenty of families that have one parent on disability...

    Tommorowland Dessert Party?

We did this on our last trip. The kids LOVED it...we were hot and tired and having a comfortable place to sit and enjoy the fireworks was wonderful. The desserts were quite yummy with lots of variety. We lucked out and got a table up close by the railing and nobody got in our way so we were able...

How much do you let your kids decide in the planning?

On our first family trip, the kids were young, 5,3,1. They had a say in that when they saw a character they liked, we ran over to get in line. I had never heard of the Disboards back then and we just winged it. We had a fabulous time. Last year they were older and I was much more into...

Tell us your funniest Ride stop / breakdown

Last July, we ducked into Stitch as there was no wait and we just wanted to cool off for a few minutes. The kids, 11,10,8 weren't all that interested in the ride, just the cool air. 2 minutes into the ride, it breaks down so they gave us each an open FastPass to use at anytime in the next few...

Have you ever seen one on your vacation?

In 1996, my husband and I were on our honeymoon. We rode The Great Movie Ride with Robin Williams and his family behind us. For every scene, I got to hear him do an imitation, the best one of course, was Wizard of Oz...he was doing the munchkin voices for his kids. His son was talking to me...

Add me to the list!!! DH and I are thisclose to making the commitment to go April 12-21st of next year for school vacation. Just need to be sure a yearly trip he must take for work won't interfere. This will be our fourth time together and 3rd time with the kids. We plan to surprise them this...
