    Hawaii trip?

Yes, hawaii is worth the money. I would even consider going the 4 nights on Oahu if that was all I could afford, but if you can stay longer and hop to Maui it would be even better. Not sure why you put vacation in quotation marks, Hawaii is a completely reasonable vacation spot? I live in the...

    twilight/evening ticket?

Does anyone know if there is a twilight or evening discount ticket for Universal or Islands of Adventure? If so what is the cost? I couldn't find anything on the Universal website, but I saw some people mention it in a google searche, no prices though. Thank you!

Vegetarians or partial vegetarians...how do you deal with anemia

I've been vegetarian for 20 years, my husband for close to 18 years, and neither one of us has ever been anemic, so I disagree with another poster that it's hard to get enough iron on a vegetarian diet. We eat a TON of beans and rice, my husband eats a lot of soy (I tend to eat minimal soy)...

Need Some Help Saving Money and Not Eating out

I consider myself to be a 'serious cook' and I do not have a garlic press or a citrus juicer. I have a food processor but I never use it, and here is why I don't use any of these gadgets: they create more dishes, and I hate dishes. It's the only thing that makes me dislike cooking. Luckily my...

    School Lunches...packing the night before

This will probably sound crazy but I usually make my sandwiches and pack anything that will make them soggy (like tomatoes) separately, in some saran wrap, then add it to the sandwich right before I eat it. My husband will take PB and Jelly in a small container and spread it on the bread at...

Planning 2015 June trip to Hawaii - which island?

I also wanted to mention that we rented a car in Maui, I bid on it on priceline and it cost us $12/day (that's before any additional insurance, and taxes which priceline should show you). We got a subaru forrester, after bidding on a compact. Just something to consider. And we also island...

Planning 2015 June trip to Hawaii - which island?

We have been to the 4 main islands in the past 3 years, and my favorite is Maui. Oahu is second, and the Big Island (Kona side) is third. I was not a fan of Kauai, though the island is probably the most visually stunning. Oahu: This island is very busy, especially if you stay in Waikiki. I...

Did your beach vacation cost more than your Disney vacation

We have found Disney to be much more expensive the past few years, and because of this, we have traveled elsewhere. Last year we traveled to hawaii for 2 weeks, and including airfare, car rental, and accommodations (studio apartment), it was much much cheaper than the same two weeks at disney...

Selling my house on my own, questions on price and down payment.

:confused3 I've bought and sold 2 homes in pennsylvania and each time the earnest money was $1000 (both for us buying each home and the buyers for each home when we sold). Our first home the buyers would not have even had $4,000 let alone $10,000 to put down! I've also never heard of putting...

Have you switched from cable (Comcast?) to a satellite dish?

Thanks! We live in a flat area with no trees, and I would say 90% of our neighbors have dishes (both DirectTV and Dish) so I'm not concerned about signal. We do get HBO and Showtime but that is only $20 total of our bill, and we don't have fancy internet or a higher TV channel package...

Have you switched from cable (Comcast?) to a satellite dish?

If so, please tell me about it, the good/bad etc. Our cable bill was recently raised to almost $200 for internet service and ONE hd dvr box. We started 4 years ago paying about $115, and I'm just over them raising the price constantly (I call every so often and they lower it for a few months...

    Vegetable Stock - recipe?

I'm kindof shocked by these posts! My husband makes veggie broth almost once a week and it takes about an hour (minus chopping time which takes about 5 min or so). We just have a ton of veggies- carrots, celery, onions, garlic, and any other random stuff we have; fennel root, radishes, apple...

    What's the best juicer?

I also have a champion juicer and would recommend it to anyone. I use it for nut butters as well as juice.

Is the money saved worth the aggrevation of a high effeciency washer?

my front loading HE washer has a pause button and you can open the door if you've dropped something or forgotten something. :confused3 I assumed they all had that. i use tide so the HE detergent is not a problem for me. I use approximately 2tbsp per wash (you don't need a lot). I throw in 1/4...

WWYD - child and classmate - UPDATE page 3

You and your husband sound like awesome parents, and Finn seems like an awesome kid! I'm glad there are good people in this world that aren't willing to turn their backs on a kid who needs kindness and friendship.

    Offended

Yes, I get offended by it (we have different last names). I will typically mention it to my husband (usually his family doing it) but I would never post on facebook about it or even mention it to the offending party (and yes, I do consider it an etiquette faux pas).

Angry With My Library...Am I Being Selfish??

Other posters have already said the staff member checking you out probably had no idea what the book was or if there was a request list out on the book that would prohibit you from renewing. I don't think most people here are calling you a bad guy, just saying that you're overreacting to a...

Should it really take this long to recover from wisdom teeth extraction?

I was 18 when I got my wisdom teeth out (fully impacted), and it took 2 weeks before I could open my jaw at all. I couldn't even open my teeth a tiny bit to get a spoon or fork in, let alone chew. Everyone is different and your teeth might have given the oral surgeon a really hard time coming out!

    Just back from RCI...thoughts

My husband and I are also recently back from RCI (Serenade of the Seas), after 2 cruises on the Disney Magic- Western Caribbean and 10 night Med, and I agree 100% about the 'vibe' - it's just different, hard to explain. One thing I remember is asking (not even exaggerating) 10 different staff on...
