Fantasy 2014 Opening Day Compiled Pricing Thread

I'm not sure what date was used to get the 2014 quote near 30k for cat R. It might have been off season. The 17k for 2013 is an offseason quote (October). I'll post when I know more tomorrow.

Fantasy 2014 Opening Day Compiled Pricing Thread

I'm hearing from a source almost 30k for cat R, up from 17ish in 2013. A big jump, to be sure. I can confirm tomorrow.

Any rumor when 2014 dates come out?

I'm not sure if concierge reservations can modify online. Does anyone know?

    Disney Cruise Boring?

Nice post and dead on. Expectations are important, especially for the first time cruiser.

    Disney Cruise Boring?

This is condescending with a touch of arrogance, but perhaps you didn't mean it to come across that way as your subsequent post says: I think the bolded statement is the closest to a good summary and more tactful opinion. Everyone likes to do different things with their time. It has...

    Disney Cruise Boring?

I think expectations are important. We went on our first cruise last March on the Dream...a double dip 5 day Bahamian. It was good in most ways, but I completely agree with some of your sentiment. Our expectations going in were sky high based on all we had read on this board. We were really...

what does "concierge" actually get you?

We were in concierge this past March in the Roy suite. We enjoyed the cruise, but what we enjoyed was everything outside the room and off the concierge floor. We also drink very little, don't snack, and prefer privacy from ship staff to doting. Despite that, we thought we'd try it out as we...

Just off fantasy concigere room 12014. Experiencing withdraw...

Agreed. We had our first cruise about 6 weeks ago in concierge, and there wasn't enough there for us to justify the price. Granted, we don't drink much, and we like to DIY when it comes to planning our vacation so we don't need someone else to click the mouse for us to book things. You can't...

Aqua Duck question for past cruisers...

I think it depends on how many people have the same idea. We were on the March 27 double dip 5 day dream. The posted wait time at 1150AM was 30 minutes (and I don't think it wasn't even open yet), and at noon was 60 minutes. Deck 11 was packed with nary an open lounge chair to be found. I...

Has anyone ordered everything on the menu in the dining rooms since it's free?

It's a good point you make. As in the case of my brother-in-law, there is a desire to get maximum value for your dollar. However, no one really wins by overeating more calories than their body needs. The cruise has to plan for more food and you gain weight and put your body in an unhealthy...

$440 for 7 hours at Aulani? Does that seem a little much?

...and all of those are a lot closer than transporting yourself all the way out to the Kapolei area where Aulani is. Also, Aulani is across the street from a golf course rather than on a golf course. Aulani is a highrise hotel on the ocean front.

$440 for 7 hours at Aulani? Does that seem a little much?

We stayed at Aulani in the first week of January. It's a pretty standard hotel, but very busy. We preferred to spend our time at the beach which is Hawaii's best feature. The pools are not that exciting. There are two small, average waterslides that tend to have long lines. The snorkel...

Has anyone ordered everything on the menu in the dining rooms since it's free?

It is probably hard for them to watch. Many of the servers come from countries where the average worker earns only a few dollars a day. The vast majority of their budgets are spent on feeding their family. Therefore food is precious and sacred. Every morsel not used is saved and eaten at...

Has anyone ordered everything on the menu in the dining rooms since it's free?

It seems like a reasonable approach, especially for the undecided. Personally, I don't get that excited by food, so I don't spend a lot of time weighing the merits of one choice over another. 30-45 minutes later I feel the same regardless of what I chose.:) Sampling sounds like fun, but I...

What I would do/not do next cruise

We just returned from our first cruise ever, the 5 day double dip Dream that sailed on March 27. I learned much from these forums, so I wanted to give back a little if I could. Our kids are 6 & 8. Things that did not work for us: 1) Arriving early at port. Everyone, and I mean pretty...

If you are just back from CC, how was the water temps?

They were between 3-5cm (about an inch and a half), and quite beautiful to look at. I didn't see many bigger than that. Our girls were in the water for 7-8 hours each CC day, and only suffered two stings each. That's far better odds than mosquito season here in the Great White North (and...

If you are just back from CC, how was the water temps?

We were on the March 27 cruise. The water was perfect for us on both days. The first day was delightful as a bit of rain at 8AM scared most people away until the afternoon. We did slides and the floating jungle gym without any waits. We're from Canada though, so Caribbean water at any time...

Anyone there now that can comment on FP enforcement

My first post! But I've lurked forever.;) Anyway, whatever new money making system Disney comes up with will quickly become part of the fabric of our experience. We all became very skilled at gaming the "no expiry" FP, but as the various touring and FP strategies became more well known, a...
