To get the meal plan or not

Labor Day 2013, my wife and i kept every receipt and we discovered it would have made sense to have Disney Dining Plan. It was just the two of us that time. This coming trip for Marathon Week, we got the dining plan for 5 adults (and one infant which doesn't cost anything). We will see how...

Excited! And looking for some ideas.

I agree with what others said. Pick a weekend or two in October, November, December for events at Disney. You have Halloween, Wine and Dine at Epcott, and Christmas Holiday decorations. You may also want to call DVC member services to find out how many points you can bank and how many need...

    DVC mousekeeping - first experience

I agree. You don't even notice that you don't have mousekeeping service. We keep our place pretty clean. And when they do stop by, they are pretty generous what they give us so no need to pay for extra.

Name one change you'd like to see DVC make in 2014

    1) A better discount for AP. 2) Allowance to purchase tickets for persons staying in your room or AP at a discount. 3) Better website that allows you to search all resorts for what you are looking for.

    Aulani in February '14

I think Alunai requires you to book right when you can book the non home resort. You can try a wait list, or do it later in 2014 or 2015. The points are the same in September as in February.

    inheriting dvc points?

My deed with DVC is Tenants by the Entireties. I am also an attorney. Generally speaking, as long as a deed in a T by E states says Husband and Wife, T by E applies. Thus, if your grandmothers survives you, the deed goes to her, not to you. She could always gift it to you though. Sorry...

How Much Time do you really spend in the Room

It depends, but we have no problem spending time in the room. We do breakfast in the room and would often bring food back to the room for dinner. I personally like getting out and about. That is why I liked SSR because we can go over to downtown disney. Even if it is just walking around, get...

    non-Disney stroller question

We got the City Mini. I think it runs $250 but don't quote me on that. At the crease of the seat, there is a handle that pulls up. That is all you have to pull to fold it up. I also find it to decently light weight. Not as light as an umbrella stroller, but it is light weight. It has a lot...

How many names can go on the title?

If the DVC is titled as Tenants by the Entirety (i.e., in both Husband and Wife's name), and she is the only one filing for bankruptcy, than DVC is most likely protected. The only question is if there are any unsecured creditors that are jointly titled in both Husband and Wife's names in the...

    Need DVC resort advice

Again, we don't know how much finances are, but you could also look at the Tree House Villas at Saratoga Springs. That is a 3 bedroom for the price of a 2 1/2 bedroom.

    Borrowing and then canceling

Are the original points used for the current reservation for this year, or points that were banked from last year?

Hollywood Studios is the best Walt Disney World Park!

I am not sure what is my favorite park, but we enjoy it. My wife and I had a date night there while the Grandparents watched our dear daughter on one of the magic hours evenings. We spent a lot of time at Star Tours, and then went over TOT and Aerosmith ride. We also had a family day there...

Best resort for Marathon weekend 2014?

Stayed at Tree House Villas with 5 adults and 1 child for this past marathon weekend and would do it again for 2014. Tree house only has two bedrooms for adults. The bunk beds are not good for adults because you will bang your head when you wake up in the middle night if you are on the...
