NFELDERS, so glad you got a negative result.
My news is unfortunately not so great. Biopsy results from both my breast and my node came back positive for invasive lobular carcinoma, and they could see a few more nodes that are enlarged. I meet with a surgeon and oncologist on Thursday. Also...
I’m about an hour and 15 minutes west of Panama City Beach. It used to be quite sleepy here, but getting less so lately. I’ve only driven through Baton Rouge but I think Louisiana is such a pretty state.
Ah, I love the Boston area. My husband’s company’s head office is in Nashua, NH, and last...
Feralpeg, it sounds like you have some experience with this! I am guessing you have many interesting stories to tell. Thank you so much for sharing, and your words of encouragement. Amazing and strong for sure! I love your screen name, btw. So clever.
Pea-n-Me, thank you for posting! It’s so...
Hi Laurie and Feralpeg,
Thank you so much for responding. It’s hard not to feel alone out here right now! You are right, the waiting is not fun, and the storms and COVID have set everything back. Creativity is great for Disney trips, but not so nice when worrying.
Laurie, I think both biopsies...
Hi DISboards breast cancer survivors, I hope it’s OK to post here. It said at the beginning you were open for hand holding and I could really use some. And maybe some hope, because right now I’m struggling.
Also, warning in advance – sometimes I struggle to be brief. 😁
For some reason during...
We were given one as a nice surprise by a CM at check-in about a year ago. We are gold, and nobody checked our status, just looked at the boarding card.
If these start popping up, the date idea mentioned by @Deb T. would work nicely. I would have loved it if mine was dated, I kept it as a...
"Onboard booking" of a future cruise, for that nice discount and onboard credit. They tend to get really crowded at the end of the cruise when people suddenly realize that time is short.
We just did our first 2 week DCL on the EBTA in May and really loved it! So much that we booked the EB...
We just stayed there for 3 nights post-transatlantic. We chose an AirBnb in the Gracia neighborhood and it was amazing. Somewhat removed from the tourist crush but vibrant and so many things were an easy walk, plus the metro is easy to use to get around if needed. We saw only a taste of what was...
Here's my take.
I've done 3*, 4 and 7 nights on DCL. If it's feasible for you, I would 100% switch to a 7 night. The only people I would recommend 3 nighters to are those for whom it's truly their only option. It's really only 2 full days on the ship, and for us it felt like we had just...
I tend to love high places, in hotels, on ships, etc. But I "accidentally" ended up on deck 2 on one of my Wonder cruises and loved it. It was convenient, quiet, and kind of cozier somehow. Agreed, I'd save the money for something else.
They do. :) Tbh, I didn't pay much attention on our last cruise as we don't do a lot of pin trading these days, but it looks like they still have officer pin trading night on at least some of the cruises (per a current trip report on Disney Cruise Line Blog). Traditionally people have been able...
As everyone knows, this is totally subjective, and even what "blows me away" personally has changed over the years. I no longer sail exclusively on DCL for many reasons. But I can tell you what made the difference for me and what made it take me years to consider sailing elsewhere.
It was the...
I can say for a fact that they can't be combined with FLR resident rates. More than once we've had a cruise booked with the OBB discount and ended up later with a resident rate. We lost both the 10% and the OBC with the change. Of course the original price of the certificate is still applied.
Nothing wrong with April for sure, but don't let the "hurricane" fear deter you unless, as mevelandry said, the slight chance of a change of itinerary would ruin your trip. First of all because the chances of running into anything are slim, and second because if a storm IS out there, there's...
I'm not even certain this is possible because I've never used gift cards toward payment, but just an idea. If the gc's don't end up working for a portion of the cruise, is there any way you could put it on a credit card and then call in the morning and see if they will apply the gift cards in...
I'm a verandah girl through and through, but I'd concur with everyone else and say go with the extra night. I always feel like cruises are really one day shorter than the "nights" – i.e. a 4-night cruise is only three whole days on the ship. So that's really quite a bit of extra time...
