    Bothered by the fog horn?

I didn’t read the question as, “how can I make the ship stop a vital safety procedure?” I read it as, “if I’m a light sleeper on a route prone to fog, should I pick an aft cabin?” Which is a very valid question for a vacation! -7 years as a surface warfare officer, including 2 deployments and a...

SHADES OF GREEN at Walt Disney World Resort Information & Questions

It’s been several years (9-ish) since I stayed at SoG so I’m sorry if these are dumb questions. I’m eligible again as a veteran with service-connected disabilities. 1) I booked a room, received a confirmation number, deposit came out of my account- but I never received a confirmation email. Is...

    Princess Weekend 2023 (Feb 23-26, 2023)

Ok, looks like he should plan on taking the early bus with me- thank you!

    Princess Weekend 2023 (Feb 23-26, 2023)

I swear, I should be able to figure this out on my own but I’m stuck. DH and I are staying at Port Orleans, will have a car, I’m running the half (no POT but anticipate finishing around 2 hours), he wants to cheer me on, at least near the finish. I’m planning on taking a bus around 3:30; does he...

    Princess Weekend 2023 (Feb 23-26, 2023)

Any suggestions on where to eat post-race? By the time I make it back to the hotel after the half marathon, shower, and leave again, what would be a safe time to make brunch/lunch reservations for? 11? I’m staying at POFQ, so Disney Springs is fairly convenient, but we also have park tickets for...

    Oceaneer’s Club Groups

Ok perfect! They’re fine on their own, both go to daycare in their own classes, but I switched gyms because my previous gym’s childcare separated them and they just wanted to play together. Thanks again!

    Oceaneer’s Club Groups

I couldn’t find a firm answer on this; are children divided up by age, other than teenagers? My 6 and 3 year old are very close, and the idea that they’d be in the same activities in the Kids Club is making us lean towards Disney over Royal Caribbean. RCCL has strict divisions for 3-5 and 6-8...

    Princess Weekend 2023 (Feb 23-26, 2023)

Life is short! WEAR THE CROP TOP! As long as it’s still easy to pin your number on lol.

    Princess Weekend 2023 (Feb 23-26, 2023)

Ugh. 34 minutes on my desktop, but I need to leave home in 15 minutes. Over an hour on my phone. Fingers crossed!

Stroller and toddler on bus by yourself?

I’m working on planning that as well. I’m thinking of renting a stroller rather than bringing ours, just to help with the buses!

Which resort is a never or never again for you?

Animal Kingdom Lodge- never stayed there, but took a bus over to walk around one day and just didn’t like the whole vibe. It felt very dark. I like how there’s something for everyone though. We actually love how spread-out CBR is, as it felt quieter and provided some peace after crowds in the parks.

    So few kids

When you think of the things still missing from the parks- character hugs, some shows, and parades (until next month)- they’re largely attractions that appeal to young children. I’m not sure it’s worth the money for my kids. Plus, mine are 4 and almost 2- I’d much prefer to wait until they don’t...

No, we're going to Monkey Joe's...a June 2021 TR (UPDATE 7-28)

Just caught up- hope everything goes well tomorrow, and I’m loving your pictures! My oldest will be turning 5 on our next trip, so it’s fun to see Miles’s reactions. We’re also from North Alabama- glad to see some other Disney fans from the Rocket City area!

    Bippity Boppity Boutique reopening date?

Same! My 4 year old has only ever had one haircut, and it was there. I mentioned to her today that her hair’s getting long, and she told me we need to go to Disney so she can get it cut!

    AK vs. CBR

Recently had the same conundrum, and opted for CBR. Epcot is our favorite park, and easy transportation there is key. They’re one of the few resorts that has a playground to let the kids burn off steam and run wild. And my 4 year old is currently terrified of animals (a petting zoo had her in...

    News Round Up 2019

If you witness a man overboard and there are multiple witnesses (which on those boats, there always are), have one person throw a life ring, one person grab the emergency phone to communicate with the crew, and EVERYONE ELSE should look at the person in the water and point at them. It’s...

Disney Skyliner (Gondola Transportation System) Read Post 1 Now Open!

Wanted to add a few thoughts as I head home from my stay at CBR: the Skyliner is a game changer. CBR is probably the only hotel we’d stay at, especially after a few unpleasant bus experiences on this trip. We were in the building closest to the Riviera station, so we used that to head to Epcot...

What restaurants won’t you go to again?

Tusker House. Booked it for the characters, but food was very underwhelming, and we found other ways to meet Donald and gang. I’m an adventurous eater while my husband is not, and neither of us was happy with our food. I’m not saying “never again” to ‘Ohana, but probably not for a while. Loved...

Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

On our way home from our first stay at CBR, and just had a couple thoughts- Cons were the internet and the playground. The internet was very slow our entire stay, and wouldn’t work at all our last night. I didn’t have service in my room via Sprint, so I couldn’t check FP times, much less stream...

Does anyone else go alcohol-free in WDW?

Six months pregnant for my trip next month, so not this time. I’m definitely looking forward to finding some fun mocktails, and we’re planning on doing an adults-only weekend for the Wine and Dine half marathon in 2020; I’ll make up for this year’s lack of booze then!
