I love credit cards so much! v6.0 - 2023 (see first page for add'l details)

I have been gone for awhile but I tried searching this thread for ideas. I am trying to plan a last minute trip from PHL to Anchorage then rent an RV for a week. Family of 5, kids are semi adults. Flights are high but we have 2 companion passes with Alaska Air and points for 1. I have...

I love credit cards so much! v4.0 - 2021 (see first page for add'l details)

I haven't posted in awhile. After a long stretch of canceled trips I was finally able to take my kids to Hawaii early this summer and I was able to visit DD23 in France last month. We had great trips but I have burned through all my Marriott points. I have a personal card and both Amex and...

I love credit cards so much! v3.0 (see first page for add'l details)

I downgraded P2 to a Freedom but I made my DD an AU on my CSR. She was studying abroad last fall and able to make good use of the lounge access. Her roommates also enjoyed the perk! I kept her on for another year in anticipation of multiple trips and getting my family of 5 lounge access.

I love credit cards so much! v3.0 (see first page for add'l details)

I brought a twin air bed to ASMu 2 years ago. I put it in-between the beds and inflated in place. That way it just filled the space available. It was just me and two of my teens but no one wanted to share a bed. It was tight but it worked for us for a long weekend. We were only in the room...

I love credit cards so much! v3.0 (see first page for add'l details)

Is this the Arrival+? Have you considered PCing instead of canceling? I was able to call in and PC mine to the no fee Arrival about a month ago. This way I got to keep my points.

That would make the 3rd Chase Biz for each of us. Do you think I need to cancel my old one first?

I love credit cards so much! v2.0 (see first page for add'l details)

I'm back to say thank you for sharing sharing all of your wonderful advice and to ask for more. I followed this thread and the previous one regularly until a few months ago when work got too busy to keep up. Now I only get to check the "news" thread regularly. I have a large group airline...

I love credit cards so much!

Once again I am about 100 pages behind but I'm back for more advice. I was holding off on personal cards with the hopes of a Sapphire DD in May but those dreams have been slashed. Plan B - I'd like to surprise my kids with a long weekend to Universal Studios in December. Flights are booked on...

I love credit cards so much!

I have been 30-40 pages behind since vacation in July but I am jumping ahead to ask for advice on booking AA award flights. My window has just opened for our flight out but I still have a few days before I can book our flight home. It will be myself and 2 boys flying from PHL to MHH for a...

I love credit cards so much!

Thanks, I can't take credit for the idea, just remembering someone else's great idea during the last sale. I am really tempted to cash out for a Marriott nights and flights too, but I'm not sure which airline I need for a group trip to the Bahamas.

I love credit cards so much!

Before transferring UR points consider purchasing SPG points on sale and using your UR points as a statement credit to reimburse yourself. As an example: 10,000 SPG points would transfer to Marriott as 30,000. The cost would be $227.50, so take a 22,750 statement credit to “pay” yourself back...

I love credit cards so much!

April last year my DD was accepted to study abroad in Rome and I had 7 months to save money and points to go visit her. This is my budget version of 10 days in Europe. My flight (PHL-FCO) was booked with 47250 AA miles (after Citi AA 10% back) DH and I each got a Sapphire Preferred card which...

I love credit cards so much!

I am several pages behind, so forgive me if this has been posted. We have USAA from military service, but I believe you can get it without the military service. I think it depends on the state you live in. I remember hearing that some states would not let them sell policies unless they sold...

I love credit cards so much!

I went back and forth about the SPG Biz as well. I finally decided to go for it. I don't have a definite plan for using the points. I know I can use them to visit DD in college or transfer them for airline miles. I am really hoping to combine them with my Marriott points for Nights and...

Thanks for the suggestions. I am considering the Business Gold Rewards (BGR). I can't justify the AF for Business Platinum, I don't have any paid flights in my current plans. I don't see a sign up bonus for the Blue Business Plus (BB+), am I missing something? I also have Citi AA Platinum on...

I love credit cards so much!

Its been a crazy busy week and I just managed to get caught back up on this thread. I just wanted to thank those that offered advice last week when I was considering a cash back card for my upcoming Disney trip. Fearing that I was too late to try for a cash back card for this trip I decided to...

I love credit cards so much!

Thanks. DS's band is marching on Main Street. I wasn't sure if either or both of my other kids were going with me on this trip until this week so I didn't book anything that was not fully refundable. Flights are SW points and hotel was booked with the Disney Visa promo a few months ago. I...
