    Disney apparel in tall sizes?

My son is just shy of 6'7, and I've had luck with tall Disney shirts at Penneys.

Arm cast at Disneyland (or Legoland???)

DS had a cast past his elbow for one of our DL trips. He had the green light from our Orthopedic surgeon to ride anything he wanted. It was December and unusually cold that week, so we didn't do either of the water rides. He did need to use a sling by the middle of the day, as the cast got...

    DLR Attraction Poster Pack...

I found 12x18 poster frames at Michaels. They came in a 2 pack for around $12. $6-8 using coupons. They only had one kind. Just a black metal frame with glass. HTH

    Princess Tiana

We've seen her quite a few times between Cafe Orleans and the French Market around 11:30.

    Cafe Orleans Split Plate Charge?

You can substitute the sweet potato fries for fruit (strawberries and grapes), and get your pommes frites fix. I have been told you can also just order the sandwich, and they will deduct the price of the fries. DS likes the fruit, so I have not tried it myself.

    Disneyland Hotel pool hours

I believe the hours change seasonally. We were there last June, and the pool was open at night. I want to say until 10. My kids went night swimming every night and loved it. The pool all lit up is pretty magical.

    Room Service at Disneyland Hotel

We ordered RS last June. Breakfast starts at 6:00 (the first time slot available is 6-6:30), and yes, they have Mickey waffles. It was a cabana day for us, so we didn't need early delivery. We requested delivery at 8:00-8:30 and it arrived at 8:10. You will have a door hanger with the breakfast...

    Star Tours "Rebel Spy"

The rebel spy on one of our flights in February, was a little old nun dressed in a full habit. Everyone busted out laughing and cheering. You could just tell, it made her day. pixiedust: Both my kids have been chosen a couple of times. We were always sitting in the middle of the 2nd or 3rd row.

    Walkable Hotel with Bunk Beds?

The bunk bed rooms at PVI are on the small side, but it doesn't sound like you will be spending much time in your room. You can't beat the location of PVI. My kids love the breakfast. It's the only place we stay off property now. Del Sol is right across the street, and has a 2 Q w/ bunk beds for...

Grand Californian. Did I pick the wrong hotel?

I'm a t shirt and jeans girl too, and I have never felt out of place at any of the resort hotels. Both of my teens are into photography and happily walk around our hotel lobby and the grounds in their pj pants taking pictures. A couple of times they have had Cast Members come over and point out...

Which ride do YOU think is scariest at DLR?

I always thought it was the swinging gondolas, until I finally broke down and rode one. It was not fun, or even pleasant, but not as bad as I thought it would be. Not a fan of Ferris wheels in the first place. My vote goes to Goofy's Sky School. I'm never disappointed when we just don't seem to...

What do your teens like to do at Disneyland?

DS is 16 and DD is 13. They love being able to go off on their own (together) for an hour or two without mom and dad. We find the nearest glass of wine or Margarita and relax at DCA, or go shopping at DL. Both of mine are into photography, so they enjoy wandering around taking pictures. They...

    Your Disneyland weakness...

Potato soup and fried pickles at Carnation Cafe. (The recipe for the soup you can find online isn't even close, IMO.) We always have an 11:30 lunch reservation our first day.

    Paradise Garden Grill?

I was told the change in menu is just until Taste Pilots reopens.

Picky eater question: Best kid's burger?

ESPN Zone in DTD has mini burgers on their kids menu.

Yet Another Hotel Comparison Thread: Tropicana vs. Camelot

We have stayed at both, and both were fine. We didn't have a room with a balcony at Camelot, so I'm not sure about booking them. The kids did think it was pretty cool that the pool was on the roof. :) I would stay at the Tropicana because it's cheaper and closer. My opinion would change if you...

Bad mom for shielding 4y/o DD from princessy fun at DLR?

If your DD isn't into princesses because it's not her thing, don't push it. If she doesn't really know about them, you can't really know if they are her thing or not. As far as your DS, he might enjoy meeting them more than either of you think. My DS is 4 years older than DD. He loved seeing...

where can we find the best burger?

Sourdough bacon cheese melt at Carnation Cafe is one of DS favorite burgers anywhere!

Do you always eat at the same places each trip?

A trip is not complete with out eating at El Torito (on Ball), Pizza Press (on Harbor), Naples (DTD), Cafe Orleans, Carnation Cafe, and Bengal BBQ.

    Park Vue Hotel

We have been staying there for 10 years now (Probably spent 150 nights there). Only place we stay besides our once a year splurge at DLH. We have always been 100% happy. I recommend it to everyone, and no one has been disappointed. Enjoy your trip!
