Back from our first trip at the Fort

......And we loved it! We only stayed two nights. DH and I were arriving a few days earlier than the rest of our group so we decided to tent camp at the Fort. We were driving and camping on our way down so we were going to have all our gear anyway. Originally our plan was to camp a few...

    Howling Dog-Site Recommendations? HELP!

Obviously the dog is just unhappy to be left alone. Putting him in daycare would be far cheaper than 6 unused sites and numerous gift cards. And even more important, guests and animals alike will be much happier! http://www.bestfriendspetcare.com/waltdisneyworldresort/services-rates/day-camp/

Best route - Chicago to Orlando

We are leaving the evening of 11/8 but making a few stops on our way down (our favorite camping spot in Southern IL and with family in Knoxville, TN) and will be arriving 11/11. I'm not sure what time of the day you're leaving, but if you are looking to just stop overnight somewhere I...

Fort Wilderness Camping...Has anyone done this?

We are doing it for two nights on our next trip. We tent camp all the time but this will be our first time at Disney. I think it's a great way to add inexpensive time to your trip. We are driving down and will be camping along the way. But we aren't bringing our usual amount of camping...

Use Fort Wilderness for cheap Extra Magic Hours

Could they find someone who wants to use it? I don't how hard it would be, but I bet there is a family out there who could really benefit from not having to spend that money. Then the site wouldn't be "wasted". I'm sure someone could be found either by posting somewhere on the internet or...

Ever have CM's take the Magic out of it?

Not until our last trip. One of our first experiences was with an extremely rude woman at the gift shop of our hotel. One of the other CMs implied they have a lot of problems with her. Then we had a woman serving our QS lunch who wouldn't get off her cell phone. This was at the hot dog...

We will have one night to do this on our upcoming trip and we have never done it before. I hope all is working on our one shot!

    Going Camping

Awesome, awesome, AWESOME! Congrats to the Mrs! We are hoping our November trip will be my mom's "in remission celebration". Hers is incurable but we'll take remission and so far it's looking good! I'm so happy for you that I cried! Enjoy a wonderful trip!

Thunder Mountain shut down yesterday due to unruly passengers??!!

I can't sit on the ground due to my bad back and an old knee injury. But back when I could we sat for a few things while waiting for "whatever it was" to start. Once it started we stood up and so did everyone else. I would never dream of ever expecting other people to sit because I chose to...

    24 hr gas stations?

We take a lot of road trips and actually don't really think about it. We have never had problems finding gas stations that are open all night. We prefer to travel at night so we need 24 hour stations. Travelling along the interstates you will not have a problem. There are plenty. If you...

    the matching t shirt things

My family and I are not the matching t-shirt kind of people, but if we did it wouldn't embarrass me. Why would I care what other people thought of it. I don't ask them before I get dressed ANY morning!

Bumped from Bistro de Paris - no notification from Disney

I spoke with them and the reservation was changed on 7/2. Actually they cancelled the first one and made a new one for Chefs. That's why there was a problem. I guess they were supposed to change it, make notes in the system and contact us but since it was not done as protocol that's why we...

    Honest answers....how many of you

Our actual anniversary is in October, but we are celebrating our anniversary when we go in November. It was planned as our anniversary trip but Oct. just isn't a great time for DH to take off of work - sometimes impossible. Nov. is much better for him. It will be the anniversary of our...

Bumped from Bistro de Paris - no notification from Disney

I'm the big Disney planner for my family so usually I'm the first to know everything and I know pretty quickly, but I have been really sick for a few weeks and haven't spent much time on the computer. Well, my mom called me yesterday to tell me she read that Bistro de Paris was now closed until...

    Tent prep for christmas!

Check out Walmart for tents. They have the same stuff the sporting goods stores carry at cheaper prices. Even the sales girl at Bass Pro told me to only buy there what I can't find at Walmart because anything they both carry will be less.

Do you wear ears at WDW?

I would wear any kind of ears, but I stick with the headband kind because they are most comfortable for me. :thumbsup2

HELP!!! - People near (or who have driven through) Louisville - HELP!!!

You can avoid both Louisville and Nashville. In Indianapolis switch to I-74 east and then in Cincinnati pick up I-75 south. It's about an extra 30 minutes drive time but you can avoid any problems in those other cities. Just make sure there is nothing going on in Cincinnati or Lexington.

    Curious...

I am not a FL resident yet, but my husband are planning to move to the Tampa area within the next two years. We plan to a lot of FW camping once we live down there, but we will also be AP so we'll be going to the parks too. Two reasons I wouldn't go JUST to camp: 1. I wouldn't pay those...

How important is a smart phone to your visit?

My upcoming trip will be my first trip with a smart phone. And that's only because our current contract will be up next month and we have switch providers, so we've decided to take the plunge. However we have gotten along just fine with out one so far. But I do think the line times and FP...
