    Osborne Lights Timing Question

Yep, wait until about 15 minutes before park closing. They leave the lights on well after posted "closing" time. Then, as opposed to shuffling through shoulder to shoulder and having to hang on to the kids so they don't get separated in the crowd, you will have large open spaces between...

Disneyland gallery photo cd with code for photopass?

I bought it in January, but you probably want to post your question on the Disneyland section of the boards for a more up to date answer. Go back to the home page for the link down towards the bottom. This section generally refers to WDW in Florida.

    Free parking for room only?

Absolutely! Otherwise, any annual or seasonal passholders staying onsite couldn't do those things because we're not buying tickets every time.

    Character Dining Solo

That's weird. I've had the exact opposite experience many, many times. Even when I clearly don't have a camera out on the table, I've had face characters say "Do you want a picture?" and Mickey, etc. mime picture-taking to me. They usually always offer the chance to get a pic. As for the...

    Park opening celebration

Welcome to the DISboards! Just as a clarification in case you're reading elsewhere on the site, "resorts" generally refers to the onsite hotels. If you want to talk about MK, Epcot, DHS or AK, we call those "parks". Don't want you to be confused when you're looking for touring tips...

    Texting disaster averted on Speedway

You just reminded me of my worst ride ever. My car kept conking out completely, and my ex thought it was hysterrrrrrrical to lag behind and then when I stopped to ram me at full speed, while I sat there helplessly in his path. And to add insult to injury, CMs kept popping out from behind bushes...

    Character Dining Solo

I'm a solo traveler who does character meals all the time. There will always be someone to take your pics. Face characters can grab a nearby CM & ask them to take the pic, and non-face characters will have a handler with them to do it. At Akershus, each Princess looked around for the nearest...

Flight out at 2:45, time for breakfast at Crystal Palace?

I'd skip the bus back to Pop entirely. Schedule your 8:00 breakfast & enjoy it. Then do some final shopping on Main Street & maybe even pop in to Town Square to tell Mickey goodbye. Then walk the 10 minutes over to CR & get a cab back to Pop. You'll be there in 15 minutes or so, leaving on...

If you don't have a Fast Pass, AVOID...

Sorry, but screechy speakers or not I'm still marveling at the parents who think it's perfectly cool to let their kids vault fences to climb on stuff. I guess they need an individual verbal reminder to please stop acting like ferals.

    Waiting Before Osbourne Lights

I would recommend that you steer clear of the Streets of America area from well before the lights are turned on at dusk until about 30 minutes after that. The street is packed shoulder-to-shoulder when the lights come on, and it takes a while for the crowds to die down and move on out of that...

    Bus transport after MNSSHP

I went on 10/11. At midnight, I was in Tomorrowland. I sat on a bench after everything closed and people-watched for about 5 minutes. Then I walked through the Hub and down Main Street to a bench on that little side street. I sat there for about 20 minutes while I watched the crowd on Main...

    La Hacienda and Illuminations

I have seen Illuminations from a window seat in La Hacienda. I could see nearly all of the blasts, as I was directly on the glass & could crane my neck up. The table behind me could see some of the blasts. Their kids continued to creep up closer to the window throughout the show, so I assume...

Great spots to watch Hallowishes besides Main Sreet?

Honestly, i'd watch from Main Street/Hub area. Party fireworks have a 180 degree surround of blasts that you don't see with regular Wishes. I'd want to see that from the vantage point as intended.

MNSSHP Oct 11 NOT so great...long...anyone else have problems?

While Disney does not release that proprietary information, anecdotal evidence says yes.

    October MNSSHP crowds any better?

On the 11th, I saw the 2nd parade from Town Square in front of the train station and there were empty curb spots all around until just prior to the parade's arrival, when people who appeared to be leaving the park just sat & watched because there was room. On my immediate right, an entire family...

68 Characters in 9.5 hours - a VERY busy MNSSHP

Yow. Za. Now that's commitment to a cause! :)

MNSSHP Oct 11 NOT so great...long...anyone else have problems?

I'm sorry you were disappointed. Many, if not most, of the things you are talking about were eliminated YEARS ago. Character interactions throughout all the parks all year long have been trimmed, and the days of wandering around freely & mingling with roaming characters is almost gone. That's...

MNSSHP Oct 11 NOT so great...long...anyone else have problems?

I too was at the party on the 11th. I rode POTC during the event, at about 7:30 after I had finished meeting & getting autographs from 7 characters already. Queue was 3 boats long. The ride was not down all night. I was trying to squeeze in one last candy stop in Tomorrowland at 11:59pm. The...

What to do on our departure day... 8 PM flight

To clarify, you will have to return to your resort to pick up ME. Your OP reads like you might think it's possible to go DTD to MCO directly. There is nothing within walking distance of the airport. Beaches are more than an hour away one-way, so not really taxi-able. Downtown Orlando is not...

    45 min. restroom lines?

While that might be exaggerated (and I don't know, having never been to the park on Christmas Day) I would imagine that something like that could occur in a sort of "perfect storm" situation. For example, at MK on Main Street, Ladies room, after the fireworks when everyone is trying to leave &...
