    Just reserved at SSR.

Me too! I just moved our 4 extra days at BWV over to SSR for our August trip. 1BR -- no sweat, although the MS lady made it sound like I shouldn't hesitate too long... maybe it was getting low in inventory, or maybe she knew someone who wanted my 1br std view at BWV -- who knows! So now...

    Help! Hurry! Auggh!

Called ms today -- yep, they have a 1 br at SSR if we want it for the 4 last days of our trip. But she did advise me NOT to wait, since SSR is limited (trip is in August). Details: We are going to BCV on Sat, Aug 7 in a 2 BR (on cash), dining out, enjoying SAB. Then moving to BWV std view...

    Just got a......

Well, it's not the Teflon*. The chemical name for Teflon* or its kissing cousins is not listed (as it shouldn't be, since after all, it is not, as det'd by FDA, hazardous to humans). I didn't see any of its breakdown products either, for that matter. So my guess is that non-stick is NOT what...

    VWL 2br ?

And you will know you have it by looking at your reservations paperwork, too -- it will say lock-off or dedicated right on it. Sadly, no dedicated 2brs at BWV. It is the one thing that bums me out about our home resort!

    Disney Quest -- ion!

Is it true too that much of this is virtual reality stuff? My sister went with her teen daughter and came back nauseated b/c she had been on "Aladdin's carpet". I cannot really handle VR stuff -- call it an inner ear thing or whatever, but like my sister, I would be in barfville! And the 7 yr...

    Disney Quest -- ion!

About Disney Quest -- what are the best ages for this? I think my sons (ages 9 and 8 at our next trip) would love this. HOWEVER -- I think my 3 (will be 4 at trip) yr old dd would be young for this. Am I right? I've never set foot in the joint. I'm wondering if this would be a good event...

Is a split stay a good choice??

We were always adamantly opposed to moving around -- we wanted to grow where we were planted! But the main thing that duanted us was the grocery issue. We do good deal of cooking in the villa -- would that be a regal pain to move? For our next trip, we will stay our first weekend at BCV --...

How has DVC changed your vacations?

    1. Our frequency has actually DECREASED after DVC, but that's more a sign of our family status than our DVC membership! We were going every year, but once our 2 boys got older (and dd came along!) we decided that 1 big trip every 18 mos worked better for us. So we bank 1/2 yrs pts and stay...

    Just back from BCV (long)

EPCOT (and Illuminations) is numero uno, hands down, our fam favorite. So.... we take BIL, SIL and nephew to EPCOT and get them all psyched up to see the "greatest show on earth". We find a seemingly good spot, secure it early, and settle in to watch the magic unfold. But it is August. And...

    OKW pool slide

Disney knows -- It's always easier to ask forgiveness than permission. :) As for what this will due to OKW dues, I have a hardtime being "horrified" that their dues will elevate (especially only 3-4cents per pt). For the Disney-located resorts, I can't fathom the differences in...

It's cold and gray -- Calgon moment time.

Ok, it's cold and gray and wet (YUCK) here. I'm having a Calgon take me away moment... Where in WDW does your mind immediately go (your "happy" place, so to speak?) (As for me -- I immediately go to Epcot. It's evening, and I'm nibbling a funnel cake with my kids, and...

Deos SSR have parking like OKW?

In other words, do you get to park right near your room? I am trying to convince hubby that we should try SSR for the last 3 days of our stay (we're doing one night cash at BCV, then 8 nts on pts at BWV with family, then have 3 more nts set up for just our fam at BWV. THese are the nights...

How would you describe your family and who enjoys your dvc memership

Me -- 37 DH -- 37 Princes -- 8 and 7 Princess -- 3 We like a crowd! We like to invite others along for the fun. We have taken my mom, and last trip we took sil, bil, and their son. Next trip (Aug 04), we are taking them again, in addition to their newest ds (my godson and nephew, born...

What do you do in the meanwhile?

I feel your pain. We go every other year -- imagine the withdrawal, to return home knowing it's 18 mos 'til you return! We used to go more frequently, but we decided we liked looong trips better than lots of short ones. And life gets in the way of living, so to speak -- our kids have all...

Next time I book VWL, I'm requesting the Dumpster View......

RE: asking for something and getting the opposite. Corporate America is much the same as military (and Disney!) in that respect... DH and I work for same Fortune 100 chemical company, at a site in the east/central US, and we asked once to be transferred to the east coast (dh's father had...

Do you chat with your "neighbors"?

Lenshanem, it may well be a "southern" thing! I'm born/bred southern (S.C.) and one thing my in-laws immediately joked about when dh and I were first dating is that I'd strike up a conversation anywhere! And the use of "Yes Ma'am" and "No sir" etc when talking to older people -- that's a...

DVC members, where are you from? (let's try this again)

Well, I voted Southatlantic (because that's where it said WV is), but I tell ya, being land-locked and looking at Ohio across the river from our house, it's hard to feel very "Atlantic" at all! But oh well -- I'm originally from S.C. so I guess that makes it ok. But DH is from near Philly --...
