We always do 2 days at DL and 1 day at DCA - always felt like that was the right mix for us. With EMH and Maxpass we definitely felt like we got everything we wanted in.

Just back! Posted a little update on the main thread but basically it was AWESOME and PACKED. Agree w PP who mentioned the security lines being under-manned. We would try to get there by 6:30 every morning so it wasn’t terrible but I could see how it would be a total bottleneck if you came...

We did go back in the evenings! We would head back in at 4-ish and found that a lot of the crowds had thinned - still crowded but not shoulder-to-shoulder anymore. If people had been there since open without a break, I think around 4pm a lot of people were just done.

30 min outside the gate got us in a good position to get on the rides we knew that would have lines that build super fast (PP and Alice) We would basically head back after lunch and after using up our FPs if we had any that would expire before we got back. By lunch it was just a madhouse

We always stay at GCH so we can get EMH but we only go to DLR every other year, we are early risers, and we need the room for afternoon naps. For us it is worth it, but depends on your family/touring style!

Family of 5 going Apr 2-4, staying two nights at GCH and super excited. We only get to go every other year so we get to splurge on the hotel. First trip without making any dining reservations- fingers crossed I don't regret it!
