The magic bands are good for 1-2 years per the cast member when I made our reservations. I said I had a couple dozen from past years and had no way of knowing which were still usable. So we ended up paying $10 for each of us = $50.
I called the other day - it was no big deal. I reserved room for our 2021 vacation. I can apply discounts later and also convert it into a vacation package.
We have had a blast at the HDDR and love to bring guests for the first time. We are not "fancy food" folks, so we are very happy with the food. Both kids and adults enjoy the corny humor!
I don't know the percentage of guests who use the DDP - I suspect it is considerably smaller than folks paying per meal. I would hesitate to think the DDP is responsible for the homogeny in menus and limited choices. I do agree that many of the Disney Springs restaurants offer more creative menus.
We are not a fan of the food at the Grand Floridian Café. We have been there for lunch twice. The service and atmosphere are fine, but do not make up for mediocre to poor food. There are a ton of better places to eat - even quick service choices.
Chefs de France is one of our favorite WDW restaurants. The food and service are outstanding. We like getting a window seat. The desserts are spectacular. We love the fun associated with Remy popping out of the cheese presentation. Highly recommend
Oh no! I didn't realize there was more to come. I have enjoyed your trip report - have only read a few over the years. I hope I can find this report to read the finale. I really liked how chill you all were when your Boarding Group didn't get called. Some folks would be like "the sky if falling"!
We have stayed in the FW cabins and loved the extra space and ability to fix breakfast, It is really the only alternative to the DVC villas for that kind of space. We now have a camper with 4 bunks and a queen bedroom, so we are happy camping in that. Again, it has extra space and kitchen.
We are planning a family trip for next year for 14 people. I have 5 in our camper (very experienced and it works well), 3 adults and 1 baby in one cabin and 5 people - a Mom and 4 adult daughters in another cabin. Has anyone ever stayed in a cabin with 5 adults? I am worried that it will be...
Everyone has their preferences - but we love the beauty of the grounds, pools, and location of SSR. We like the Grandstand or Paddock sections. For us a "must have" are elevators if assigned to a higher floor and that is guaranteed at SSR.
The 6 person limit for the Beachcomber Shacks and 4 person limit for the umbrellas are firm. We ended up buying 2 umbrellas once as we had 2 adults and 3 kids! They will only issue the exact number of wrist bands. Another time we rented the Shack, but it is very expensive. Frankly, if you...
We arrived about 15-20 after opening. We sort of made this dinner as there is fruit and a few savory items as well as dessert. We went out to claim our spot in the garden - back left hand side along the fence. The deal was well worth it - we had tried to watch fireworks a couple days before -...
I have the same question - we have made over 20 trips in DVC Beach Club, Ft Wilderness campground, Port Orleans for a one night stay and the Yacht Club. Next year is our 50th anniversary and we want to bring our whole family down which will entail 5 rooms. We will have to check out the...
CofP is good for a dry spot or air conditioning. It is dated and boring and certainly NOT politically correct if that matters to you. That said, my 11 year old grandson liked the dog in it.
Kenny used to deliver and pick up, but Disney put a stop to it. Sometimes a guest has a rental and is leaving when we arrive and we are directed to pick it up at their site or someone picks up at our site when we leave, but that isn't the norm. We often drive to the parks with the exception of...
We've used Kenny's Tee Time many times. The pickup and return are off site which means you go somewhere and pick up the cart, bring it to your campsite, then return the trailer. It's a pain but we do it for longer trips because of the considerable savings. His carts are not always in good...
I had a similar experience. My other non favorite thing is people who leave their animal off leash and then say as the animal is charging, "he is friendly". I am going in July and requested a dog free loop and such was noted on my reservation.
I would say that the 2 year old will be fine with the suggestions above. I would have one parent take the 6 year old to Magic Kingdom for the day. She is the perfect age. You would need a park ticket to go to the after hours party as well as a fee for the party, so this would not be a great...
