Lots of sea days on our first ever cruise

While I enjoy both port and sea days I usually prefer them in balance where they alternate a bit. Too many in a row and I get stressed, either bored to tears (sea) or exhausted from too many activities (port). I would not recommend a TA for your first cruise. The first cruise or two should be a...

Going on the Wish in a couple of weeks - any tips?

I would keep an open mind and not dismiss negative reviews as they help to adjust your expectations. Maybe something that bothered someone else won't bother you. but sometimes their explanations can help with your choices. Such as: The movie theaters are super small so if you think you...

Shoreside concierge is USELESS: change my mind

We are the same. The last time we sailed a 3 night on the Dream we skipped the MDRs entirely and went Palo/Remy/Palo for our dinners. It was awesome!

    Most missed Platinum perk?

The Princess British Isles cruise was very different from our EBPC on DCL. Very port intensive. I want to say 9 ports with 2 sea days. This made the ship itself less important because we spent so many days ashore. I do know a friend I made on cruise critic had a more relaxing time because she...

    Most missed Platinum perk?

We sailed Princess in 2016 on their British Isles cruise (half the price of DCL so we were able to afford to take our college age kids) and Royal Caribbean in 2018 (able to sail with friends who refuse to sail DCL again due to price). We really love DCL, but the cost difference with other...

DCL Dropped a cart of luggage in the water

I recall seeing a Dis post about that years ago as well and it has stayed in the back of my mind every time I prepare for a trip. So, as frustrating as these things are, I try to look at them as learning experiences, not just for the unfortunate person it happened to, but to all of us that...

    Most missed Platinum perk?

While the increase in concierge numbers surely plays a role in availability, I also think the shortage in staff is a big part of the problem as well. I have gotten the impression this is a common problem for many businesses these days. I also think part of the frustration and resentment comes...

Shoreside concierge is USELESS: change my mind

First time booking concierge due to DCL canceling my first Wish cruise and so far I have zero complaints. I was sent an initial form email soon after booking explaining what to expect. A few weeks before the 130 day mark I sent some emails with questions and all were answered (some taking longer...

    First Cruise-Wish or Magic?

A longer Disney cruise for less money? Plus with the Magic you get to see where it all started. I'd suggest going with the Magic rather than the Wish (and I have sailed on all 5 ships).

    Most missed Platinum perk?

Also missed my free Palo meal on the Wish and the ability to arrive at port without worrying about a PAT as a platinum cruiser. First time I was not able to get a Palo reservation in 12 cruises (2002).

Wish Cruise for Two Adults - Should We Keep It?

Just got off the Wish and I can understand your concern. Alot depends on what is on your list of favorite things to do. Even with many of my favorites not being available I was able to have a good time. I did find the chairs cramped in the main theater. I'm 5'3" tall with short legs and my...

Wish Cruise for Two Adults - Should We Keep It?

Well then the Wish is perfect for you !! I can't sit in the sun and bake like that, especially in the Caribbean sun.

Wish Cruise for Two Adults - Should We Keep It?

Palo is extremely difficult to book especially for couples. For the first time in 12 cruises, we were unable to get a Palo reservation on the Wish. Even though there was availability showing at check in the system would not let a party of 2 book in Palo or Enchante. And when we got on board...

What is missing on the Wish?

Oh I so agree! Just off the Wish and the staff in Marceline Market we very mixed. You had your typical friendly and engaging CMs at the entrance and roaming around and then there were some that were working the various food stations that were so miserable I felt terrible asking them for anything.

    World of old fashioned

My experience with various tastings on DCL is that there is no way to know (for sure) in advance how it will be handled. And some of these tastings can be added last minute when you talk to the host assuming they have room and some sell out way in advance. But you can try different versions of...

Waiting to hear someone's firsthand experience as well. The few I have read have said that this experience was not worth the high price.

    First time cruiser. HELP! 🙃

If you sign up for DCL transfers, while you might get on the ship faster, they will charge you per person. So your cheapest option might be an uber or a rental car/van. The advantage of the rental is that you are on your own timetable. There are rental agencies where you can drop your...

Yet another "Back from the Wish" Review....

This is great and so helpful!! One thing I am nervous about...in the MDR, I have read that they pack the tables in very close... are they so close that a plus size person would have trouble fitting or sitting comfortably?

Yet another "Back from the Wish" Review....

Very glad you posted your review! We are approaching our first Disney Wish cruise and reviews like yours help us adjust our expectations and prepare so we can make the most of what is available. The reviews that gush about how everything is awesome but give little to no details or advice are...
