    Disney in October

Trying to remember as it has been a while, but seems to me we had bracelets and we excited the park and came back later. I do remember that the rides were open and we rode things multiple times because the lines were short. It was fun for us and our 5 grandchildren.

"Via Napoli" --- Now we know why..... !!!

It's one of my favorites. Had a family birthday there during Christmas. We took up the entire family table in the middle of the room. We ate and drank and partied for over 2 hours. The staff didn't rush us, service was great, food was amazing. We ordered too much birthday cake and shared it...

Sit Down Epcot Restaurants around $15 per person??

We never, ever eat more than one meal a day at Disney, and that meal is either a TS meal or CS. The rest of the time we snack, either from food we bring in (dried fruit, pretzels, crackers, etc.,) or sometimes a big splurge snack from a bakery. If you don't do the meal plan, pick 2 or 3...

    Upgrade child to adult tickets

You made a wise choice. If your child likes to order from the adult menu, she would be very disappointed with the child's menu.

Nearly gave myself a heart attack!!

You couldn't give me $700 and a free meal to spend NYE at Epcot or Mk again. The crowds, the lines for the bathrooms, the crowds, the lines for anything, the crowds.. I love all things Disney. NYE in the parks is not for me. Might consider California Grill, but not those prices. I've...

Best Deluxe resorts for 6 and 7 year old?

If they are part of the planning, show them pictures, describe the activities/eateries and let them help decide.

Are Deluxe and Moderates really worth it?

It depends on what we are doing as well as the time of the year. If we are there for a rest and relaxation with a dash of Disney, then it's worth the extra expense for the more expensive deluxe resorts and their ammenitie and grounds and pools. But if we are 'doing' Disney with the kids and...

I'm having a mini meltdown: need outside perspectives please

Yes, don't miss the food and wine show at Epcot; it's pretty amazing. Also pretty crowded on weekends when the locals are there. So glad your Mil is looking forward to the trip.

'Ohana dinner when we have 'Ohana bfast & Luau?

Two of my favorite things, the luau and O'hana. Very different food and experiences, and both are lots of fun for families. The luau has a stage show, very entertaining. O'hana has the coconut races someone else mentioned and lots of fun at the table when the "cousins" bring the delicious...

Affordable, good, resort places to eat

One of my favorite places for a sandwich or casual breakfast is Gasparilla at the Grand Floridian. I like it because it's quick, not usually crowded and there are tales outside overlooking the marina. It's a great place to read the morning paper and have a second or third cuo of coffee. Very...

Party of 3 but only 2 want to eat. Question.

He will either have to pay full price or find something else to do. Maybe the buffets could be his one meal a day experience. Both restaurants have good food and lots of choices.

Pulling of a SURPISE trip with teens

Heck, my 5 teens (yes, I had 5 teens at once) were thrilled when we surprised them and two of their cousins with a trip to WDW during spring beak. Would have been impossible to pack for all, so we told them at dinner the night before we left the next morning. Gave them plenty of time to pack...

Itinerary help with 2.5 yo - first time

Your son will have fun with you as long as you aren't tired and stressed out. My favorite grandma trick when I'm at MK, when little ones are tired of the stroller, rides, shows, tired of EVERYTHING, is to hop on board the "choo-choo" train and take a turn (or a few) around the park. It's a...

Do strollers need to be emptied of all items while left unattended?

In all of our many, many trips to Disney with our own kids and now our grandkids, we've never had anything removed from one of our strollers. We've had our strollers moved by the CM's, (be sure to mark yours), but never had one thing stolen or taken and sometimes those strollers are piled HIGH...

    go without dh?

There's not enough money on the planet to persuade me to take a 3 and a 5 year old to sit around a Disney pool for a week in July, with or without grandparents.

Half days with a toddler - HS?

This is just my "grandma" take, but we go to Disney with our kids and grandkids every year, sometimes twice, and for the most part, two year olds are more or less overwhelmed by the whole thing and as long as you are having fun they will have fun. They may or may not recognize characters or...

Suggestions for which resort to stay at with a one year old?

Go for a monorail resort, absolutely. No comparison in ease of coming and going with a baby in a stroller. It's well worth the money. Enjoy!

So how bad is the food at Chef Mickey's-for dinner?

To me, the food at CM is typical mass produced buffet food but there's more than plenty of it. Don't expect a gourmet dining experience, but your little ones will enjoy the characters and you will enjoy them enjoying the characters... Any restaurant at Disney will be crowded on Christmas day...

    Crystal Palace Dinner

Another vote for CP. The food is really yummy and there's something for everyone. Not that wowed over the service, though. Since we have a large family, I don't like paying a 15% added gratuity to a wait staff who isn't at least somewhat attentive. This has happened more than once to us at CP.

If you were to choose 1 TS meal where would it be?

Another vote for Ohana. It's a fun atmosphere for families. The food is really, really good and the kids can run around and do the race thingy with the coconuts... Go early, get a drink in the bar, and try and time dinner to coincide with the fireworks. It's our favorite family RS restaurant...
