In two days, do you do DL twice or both parks?

I would vote for the park hoppers too for all of the reasons already mentioned and another: I found during our last trip that my kids LOVED certain rides more than others, some of which really surprised me! The thing was, the had a few favorites at DL and a few at CA. We spent most of our...

What are the crowds like mid-October?

All elementary and intermediate schools in the Salt Lake City School District are out next Wednesday too (Oct. 17-19). We actually timed our trip last year to go the Sunday through Wednesday of UEA weekend specifically to miss the Utah invasion later in the week (and it was totally worth the...

    Which Hotel?

We stayed at the Homewood Suites and were quite comfortable. There was only 1 bathroom, but it worked out ok. There was one room with 2 queen size beds and then a living area with a fold out couch and a kitchenette.

Need a shuttle company that supplies car seats from lax to DLR

Another option for you might be a taxi. That is what we used with our own seats since we were just going to DL and nothing else. The driver was very patient while I strapped the seats in and it was about $40 each way from SNA.

Need a shuttle company that supplies car seats from lax to DLR

We checked our own carseats and it really wasn't that big of a pain, especially if you rent a luggage cart at the airport or can do a curbside check-in. I personally am not comfortable having my children riding without proper safety seats, especially on busy CA freeways. Our family was...

    Flying vs. Driving

Another HUGE pro for taking your own stroller - it will get you into the family security line at the airport. This was a life saver for us on our last flight out of Salt Lake City - literally saved us from missing our flight (and we arrived 1 1/2 hours early!). The security lines can be pretty...

Give up a day in DL to stay in San Diego?

I adore San Diego and can think of tons of things I could do there in an extra day. With that being said, if a whale watching cruise is what you want to do, I would keep to your current plan to drive north on Sunday evening and try to find a whale watching excursion closer to Anaheim...perhaps...

A few questions about Disneyland/San Diego trip..

I would keep the 4 days in San Diego and do the following: 1 day at Sea World, 1 day at the Zoo, and one day doing this tour: http://www.trolleytours.com/san-diego/ You could do a Midway tour, explore/eat lunch in Old Town, shop at Horton Plaza & Seaport Village, visit Coronado and come...

Downtown Disney with a 4 year old

We spent our first day at Downtown Disney last October too - we surprised our 7 year-old and 4 year-old with a Disneyland trip, but arrived early afternoon Saturday, but weren't going to DL until the next day. Downtown Disney and the hotel pool helped kill quite a bit of time, without...

    Disneyland/San Diego and feeling overwhelmed

We stayed at the Homewood Suites near DL and really enjoyed our stay. They have their own shuttle (for a small fee), which was nice too. I am not sure if you have already bought your airline tickets, but I absolutely hate flying to/from LAX. I much prefer the smaller airports in Long Beach and...

    Disneyland Railroad Toy

I saw that when we were there in October in one of the shops on Main Street. In fact, my son almost got that toy, but switched to the monorail instead (which has a huge enough track that we set it up under our Christmas tree this year!). I hope that you can find another one for your son...mine...

    Disneyland Express vs Supershuttle (SNA)

We took a cab last time and it worked out great - no wait and I think that it was something like $38 from the airport to the hotel and maybe $36? back to the airport (plus tip on top of that). The driver gave us his card so we used the same one both trips. Since we were a party of 5, it ended up...

    Christmas supper in San Diego

I am not sure where exactly that hotel is, is it on Mission Bay or the San Diego Bay? Regardless, and assuming you have a car, it might be kind of fun to have Christmas dinner at the Hotel del Coronado! It is such a beautiful hotel. If you wanted to head further north to Carlsbad, La Costa...

    WOC debacle and other adventures!

I don't get the grumpy CMs. You kind of have to expect to work with a big crowd of people if you apply for a job like that and need to leave your attitude at the door. We encountered a few during our trip 2 weeks ago (one didn't even answer us with words, just a glare as she pointed us in the...

    A huge thank you!

This really is a great board! I find it especially helpful if you only have a day or two in the parks - so many time savers and so much fabulous advice on the board! My family thought that I was crazy for insisting on hovering around waiting for the rope to drop near the Mad Hatter after the...

Shuttle company with car seats? Long Beach airport to Disneyland

I personally wouldn't trust the car seats provided by a shuttle/rental company, assuming you find one that provides them. As the previous poster noted, you do not know their history. Car seats do expire and are meant to be destroyed after being in an accident. While hauling the car seats to the...

    Hotel suggestions...

We just came back from a stay at the Homewood Suites. They have 2 room suites with 2 queen beds & bathroom in one room, a sofabed and kitchenette in the other room. There was a decent sized fridge, microwave, 2 burner stove/oven, and free hot breakfast in the morning. They do charge for parking...

How were the crowds the last few days? 10-20 to 10-23

We went early for UEA and actually returned to Utah when the rest of Utah headed to Disneyland. ;) Our first day in the parks was Sunday, Oct. 16, started out ok, but was packed by mid afternoon so we headed over to CA for some breathing room. Monday was good, but got a little busier...

    California Adventure carnival games question

There is a fishing game where everybody wins too. My kids came away with 3 little stuffed animal ducks, a medium sized Woody and 2 of the good sized Dumbos. We had a very creative time packing for the flight home. ;)
