    Just Back Comments

Hiya. Interesting to hear your comments on United. We got back yesterday and had problems both ways. Main problem is that we've lost several items bought at the outlets on the way back - all pilfered from checked baggage. Michael Kors handbags & purses, perfume and some golf gear. Alll from...

    Alamo - Skip the counter

Has anyone used this ? I just checked-in on-line and was offered this where you just seem to go straight to the garage. Seems like a good idea ??

    Golf with equipment rentals

Hi I'm managing to fit in a day's golf this year but will to rent clubs, shoes and balls. Does anyone have any recommendations ? Thinking of Falcon's Fire or Celebration. Garry

    Car Hire ...

Thanks guys. Maybe wasn't too clear about the cover. It's provided by AXA and this how it's described on the HA website. The Collision Damage Waiver and Theft Protection included in this hire do not fully cover you in the event of damage and theft. You are still liable for an excess of up to...

    Car Hire ...

We've hired using the Brits guide for our trip in Sept but came across a better deal with holiday autos (with Alamo) recently. HA recommend something called Damage Refund Insurance for £58.99 - I couldn't see this on the Brits confirmation slip from Alamo. Can anyone who's used HA advise what...

Are you going to WDW in 2014? Let's plan!

Hopefully yes to 2014. My girls have announced they're both getting 'withdrawal' symptons since our last trip in 2010. They'll be 23 and 20 so I expect them to 'help' dad with the cost this time !! May or Sept in a villa. Garry

    Golf - early/mid May - Weather ?

Thinking about going for a week in 2013 (big 50 !) with friends to golf. Hoping someone can answer a couple of questions.... 1. Is May pretty dry in the afternoon ? PM golf rates are much better than am but wouldn't like to be stopped due to lightning. 2. Golf courses - any...

    Flying Continental

Flew Continental from Edinburgh to Orlando via Newark in July 2010. Can't beat flying from your local airport rather than having to go to London or Manchester. Service included a meal and a snack - and there was also a snack on the subsequent domestic flight to MCO. Entertainment was via...

    On-Line Shopping from Outlet Stores

Yes, it's Tommy H rather than Tommy B ! There's an outlet place close to me in Livingston that has Calvin Klein and the likes but, as you say, the prices are still way above the bargains you see in the US stores. Maybe I'll be able to convince DW to go back next year for our 25th...

    On-Line Shopping from Outlet Stores

Does anyone know if this is possible ??? I've got used to getting my shirts from Tommy, Ralph Lauren, etc at ridiculously low prices - e.g. 2 shirts for $40s - but now that the girls are older we won't be going back - until the grandkids arrive :-) So...can you shop on-line at the outlet...

10 Question Disney trip poll - college thesis help!

Here's some info from over the Atlantic: 1. Once, but 6 times in the last 10 years which I don't think is too bad given the distance 2. 17 days 3. offsite 4. Overseas - Scotland 5. 4 people 6. Hollywood Studios 7. Magic Kingdom 8. 12 9. $80 10. Mmm, about £6,500 which equates to...

    nearest walmart

Dizzy Unless a new Walmart has sprung up since we last visited in July 2010 then the one mentioned by OrangeTiggs and Piglet is the closest. Its on SR535 just down past the Lake Buena Vista outlets. Taxi from AKL or DTD probably best idea. Garry

    driving from MCO to WDW?

Beth I think it's exactly that ! There's little difference IMO. Personally, I go the 417 then 536 route. Why ? Not sure to be honest but it's a little quieter, you don't need to use I4 and using the 536 to enter WDW always reminds us of our first trip in 2000 ! Garry

Bestflight check site for multiple stops?

I'm with Wayne on this one as we used Kayak last year and got a 17 day holiday via NY (from Edinburgh) that included a 3 day stopover in NY. Other tip is check regularly as the price we got (£470) was only there for a day. The current price for the exact same flights/days for 2011 is...

    Parking at Universal HRH

Where are you coming from ? If it's from I-Drive then just continue straight past the multi-storey parks. You'll go through about 2-3 sets of lights and the HRH is on your left - big guitar, can't miss it. When you go in the self-parking is on the right but I usually drop DW and the kids...

Flight for Easter 2011 from Scotland

I suspect you'll be much more likely to get a better deal on-line than at the travel agents. Don't just stick to the airline websites though - use the search sites such as www.kayak.co.uk, expedia or opodo. They search numerous airlines once you enter your travel details. A couple of points...

    Travellers Cheques - Not Accepted

I've been reading on threads that a few places no longer accept $ TCs as payment. Having still got several $100s from previous trips it would be good to know which places no longer take them for this year. Can we get a list ? Mods - is it worth making a sticky ? Garry

    Lake Buena Vista

Thanks guys. Thought you'd be along when you saw the title Wayne. I know LBV is your preferred location. Think I'll just tell them to stick to the Hotel Plaza / DTD route. Garry

    Lake Buena Vista

We have friends staying in teh Hawthorn Suites on Pam Parkway this year. It's their first trip. Can anyone advise the better route into WDW ? The shortest routes takes you along Hotel Plaxa Blvd then DTD but that's traffic light alley. Anyone think the roundabout route via I4 and the...
