I should clarify that if you're talking about taking a resort or hotel shuttle service, in that case I would say go for it. Most of the name-brand resorts and hotels run a very good shuttle service. Besides, if the shuttle turns out to be a bad experience, you have recourse to the hotel...

I would highly recommend going with a taxi over a public bus of any kind. You're on vacation -- saving $30 isn't worth it if it means a miserable start to a beautiful family trip!
