Any tips or advice for a new AP holder?

Buy online tonight and get there early. Beyond that just relax and know that you will be back. You will be back more than you think too! I live in San Diego and my car has magically made it's way to DL for dinner and a couple rides on may occasions. Once you have bene there a few times and do...

    Mom almost ran over Mickey!

This has me laughing too! So glad everyone is ok! We are regulars and my mom has her own ECV but every once it a while it gets away from her. Mostly she just runs me over! She bumps me and runs over my toes every so often. I think she's trying to tell me remind me who's boss! :rotfl2: She...

Favorite Ride "Big Kid" Ride in each Park?

I would say RSR and BTMRR. RSR makes me giggle every time! It is so fun that I cant help but laugh during the race! BTMRR is fun with the updates and worth a swap! Have fun! They get big fast...I took both of mine when they were just babies and now they can get on everything!

How to deal with rude people???

My mom uses an ECV and we go often. My mom is a little overweight but she uses the ECV for the terrible knee arthritis she has. She just cannot stand or walk very long anymore. But all people see is her weight and really she is not very big-she's actually lost weight recently! Go Mom! She...

    Help with difficult ride situation

I go often by myself with my DD's 8 and 11. My DD11 will not do TOT or CS but I make her wait in line with us. For TOT, they just pull her aside and she sits on a bench right outside the ride to wait for us. For CS, she scoots through and waits by the stairs. She has a phone with her also. I...

    ECV with sun canopy?

My mom uses an ECV and I have yet to see one at DL-one of theirs or otherwise-with a canopy. In fact the only ones I have seen with a canopy around here are the ones they rent at Legoland, so if your travels take you there you will be in luck. My mom and I were talking about this the other day...

    dining with a tween girl

My tween is picky and has recently sworn off beef. At DL, she will eat at Bengal BBQ-she gets chicken skewers with no sauce, chicken alfredo at Plaza Inn-she shares with her sister and we get two breadsticks, Pizza Port-of course! and River Belle-she recently got the turkey dinner and she...

Mad Tea Party - Best Ages?

My DD's 8 and 11 love the Mad T Party. They are not so much dancers but they enjoy the performances and the music. They LOVE the air hockey tables! They glow! There is an arcade too. There is another stage where they do performances, in between sets, that are fun to watch. There is alcohol but I...

    Aladin's Oasis

It is a meet and greet now but we always head there to sit and eat when we get Bengal BBQ. It is quiet, shady and a great place to relax.

Single Dad + 3 Kids = 5 Days of DLR insanity Am I nuts?

You'll have a blast! I am local and take my two DD's all the time. I agree with the cell phone. My DD11 takes her phone, since there are a couple rides she will not do, and having her wait with a cell phone in her purse makes me feel better. Just take it slow, soak up the magic, takes breaks if...

    Healthy eats at DL?

We also like Bengal BBQ. They have grilled veggie skewers and we get the chicken skewers with no sauce--my DD's are weird about sauces. There is a fruit stand near by for dessert and Dole Whips are just around the corner. I usually get a few of each kind of skewer and everyone just takes what...

Are your kids on spring break this coming week?

Mine are off next week. We live in northern San Diego county. I know some districts further south will have two weeks off after this week.

AP Holders: How often do you go?

We have premium AP's and probably average once a month. We line in San Diego so we do a mix of planned days-usually Saturdays, multi-day weekends and quick trips for an evening. We like being able to take it easy and do what we really want to do that particular day.

Big Thunder Ranch BBQ for Lunch VS Supper?

Just ate there last Saturday evening for the first time. We go to DL all the time but just had not made it in there. Dinner does have the corn cobettes and sausage. It was a yummy dinner! Save room for dessert-we got this giant chocolate chip cookie with ice cream and hot fudge and it was...

Do your children carry their own bags at the park?

Both my DD's carry a bag now. My DD8 has a Perry fanny pack that she will use but sometimes she takes a small cross body bag. She likes to switch it up. My DD11 uses a small cross body bag. The both carry chapstick, money and the older one has a phone. The younger one tends to carry more little...

    Trader Sam's

The Pirahna Pool is sooo good! My DD's(8 and 11) love the Schweizer Falls drink. They also enjoy the flat bread pizza and we usually get lettuce wraps that they get into as well. We get the lettuce wrap with a side of steamed rice to make it a bit more filling and it is a perfect little meal for...

Does anyone remember Belle Isles ?

LOVED that place! I grew up in Stanton and we would go there after visiting DL for the day. Wish I could take me kids there now. They would be amazed by the desserts!

    Silly Kid's Meal Size

We have found the kids portions to be small as well with one exception. If you get a kids power pack it is actually quite a bit of food! My DD8 is a big eater and she can not finish this thing. She uses the left overs for snacks. It comes with goldfish crackers, a small yogurt, a banana, apple...

    Parent Swap for older kids?

My DD11 refuses to ride CS. She goes through the line with us, scoots through the coaster and waits at the exit. There is a yellow line she has to stay behind and she will usually go find a corner to wait in. We come back and all go through the exit together. She has been doing this for a couple...

Little kids who LOVE ToT? Please share stories.

My DD7 loves this ride and has been going on it since she was 5. She is fearless! She rides hands up the whole way on CS too-even through the loop! My DD11 will NOT even consider going on either one or Splash. She is convinced she will fly off the rides, especially Splash. To her the lack of...
