Oh that's just peachy. I swear, sometimes I feel like Disney is doing everything possible to ruin what used to be my favorite Disney park of all. They are slowly but surely destroying everything I loved about EPCOT Center.
I really hope this plan doesn't get put into effect. Yes...
You know, painting the castle from a crane during the day is one thing, but I really can't see why they would have to paint poles on Main Street right next to the guests in the middle of the day? There's just really no excuse for it. That's just really very bad show, and I'm quite sure would...
Another Hotel?? Aren't there enough for right now at WDW - do they really think they can fill yet another one? How about giving us some new reasons to come, like new attractions or something, before adding yet another hotel.
You know, sometimes I wonder if those in charge of WDW remember...
Thank you so much for pointing that out!!
What an amazing place EPCOT would have been, and even though I love the theme park, I can't help being a little sad that Walt's last great dream never became reality.
Usually, I'm all for these types of enhancements, but in this case, I think it would cause more problems than it would be worth. Plus, the Magic Kingdom resort area already has a free fireworks show - Fantasy in the Sky. Those fireworks can be seen anywhere on the Seven Seas Lagoon - they even...
I think the only way we would ever be able to really come up with some real solutions would be if we actually knew some of the specifics about where the money goes at WDW. I mean, they have all these parks, hotels, restaurants, etc, etc that make money -- where's it all going if it's not enough...
I was under the impression that if they decide to go with the character thing that they will still be closing the MK at 6pm, or earlier. Is that the case, or will they be extending hours either way??
I think a $300 million investment by Disney would be great, but what I really think Epcot needs to get back on track is more corporate sponserships. Disney needs to get off it's butt and go court corporate America (and the rest of the world), and try to get as many sponsers back into Epcot as...
They probably will, but it's really comparing apples to oranges. SuperStar Limo was really just a glorified Fantasyland dark ride -- it certainly wasn't a Pirates, and I don't think it was ever supposed to be. They just didn't even try to make it something special.
But you're probably...
I think this talk of small attention spans is just an excuse that Disney uses to justify not creating this type of attraction. Slow moving dark rides can be just as exciting as thrill rides, but it takes a lot more work and money. It's a lot harder to excite people when you're moving slowly...
Disney would have to be mad to add a fifth park now -- they can't even fill up the ones they have, much less a fifth one.
But be that as it may, if they did decide to add one, I really hope they don't try for a park with one demographic. What Disney does best (or did best) was building parks...
You know, I would have no problem what-so-ever with E-Ride Nights if they just did them on weekdays during the off season. I mean, they always closed the MK down early in the winter anyway, so the E-ticket Nights could be seen as an added perk in the winter. But I cannot accept them doing them...
If I had to choose between closing Epcot a day or two a week, or dividing the park in half, I would choose the closings. Tearing Epcot in two would be about the worst thing they could ever do to that place. Isn't it bad enough they've already torn Future World to pieces!!!
OMG -- that's the most horrible rumor I have ever heard!! That would be one of the worst things that could happen at WDW.
So, does anyone know -- is attendance at Epcot really so desperate that they would really be considering breaking it in two??? And if it really is that bad, then...
As long as people are willing to pay for this little "bonus", Disney's never going to do away with it. That's just how they are - anything to make a bigger profit -- even if it means ripping people off. It's really sad when you think of all the wonderful perks you used to get for just the...
Thank YOU for pointing this out - what is Disney's deal with Giant Icons lately? We've got the All Stars, Pop, Giant Mickey hands and hats...anything I'm missing?? Yuck!
To me, they just look like a cheap excuse to not actually have to theme something well.
I don't really have an idea, but I hope that whatever Disney decides to build next is something revolutionary, and not reactionary like their last two parks in Orlando. They built MGM to compete with Uni, and AK to draw the Busch crowds, so I really hope they don't do something like that again...
Oh Good Lord!!
The last thing that Disney needs right now is to be building yet another theme park. Maybe they should concentrate on fixing the ones they've already got first...
That's probably half the reason why when planning WestCOT they threw out the individual countries and decided to make the World Showcase more continent oriented.
(Of course the other issue was probably that they couldn't find any countries willing to pay for more pavilions at WestCOT - which...
