    universal opening and lines

I went Saturday August 9th for the first time and here was how my family did it: -Arrived 20 min before opening so we were at the gate basically when it opened -Went straight to the lower lot and was able to ride Transformers, Mummy, and Jurassic park in the first hour -Tram Ride -Simpsons -Pet...

    iPhone App for DLR?

Unfortunately there is no longer an official DL app for wait times. They took away the one they used to have and we are not sure why. There are many unofficial apps and the two biggest are probably Mousewait and Lines (by Touring plans). I use mousewait since it's free and find it to be...

    Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles

I ate at the Hollywood Roscoe's three weeks ago and asked if they had any information. The server said it should be in the next couple of months. He was excited about it opening too because he wanted to transfer to Anaheim since it was closer to his house.

    Aladdin at Disneyland vs. Broadway

There are for sure some differences in that there are different characters in each show. The broadway show has more musical numbers and different staging. I think it's worth seeing both.

    Frozen meet and greet questions

Yes, this is perhaps the only way to see them without waiting 3 plus hours. Head to Fantasyland right at rope drop and you'll see there is a line of people waiting.

Besides Princesses and the Fab Five...

Characters who are in one place always: Tinkerbell and her pixie friends at Pixie Hollow, Duffy at Paradise Pier, Thor and Captain American in Innoventions, Pooh and Friends in Critter Country, Rabbits back at Big Thunder Ranch, Aladdin/Jasmine/Genie in Adventureland, Sofia the First outside...

Innoventions and Marvel, DC Comics and Disney?

Disney owns Marvel only. DC is Marvel's biggest competitor (they have Batman, Superman, Wonderwoman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Justice League). The only superheros you will see at Innoventions are the three you have mentioned. Spiderman is part of Marvel, but does not appear at the parks...

    Fantasmic Light Tower Trick

The light tower trick is my favorite way to watch F! It doesn't require gobs of time holding your place before the show and I kind of like watching the control panel in front. Plus it's dead center, so a great view!

If You Could Choose Which Week? End of April, early May

I would pick the April 28-May 1st personally, but I would highly suggest looking at the refurb calendar to pick the dates. No matter how low the crowds, if a certain favorite ride is down during your trip, it's worth looking at another set of dates.

P/U and D/O Mickey and Friends Tram

It picks up and drops off right at the start of Downtown Disney, outside the west entrance of the esplanade. Basically you are right across from World of Disney.

newish to annual passes at Disneyland

I actually am a bit crazy and always have it in my back pocket. I know it will probably end up falling out one day, but I have always carried it that way. I would highly suggest a small wallet though for the kids and yours.

    iPhone Apps

I use and would recommend mousewait for both wait times and menus for sure. The times are entered by users, so there is some margin of error, but I've found it to be pretty spot on almost any time I go. It will tell you the last time someone entered a time so you can figure out if it's close...

About to meet Captain America *Updated with pictures see post #13

Disney has not announced an end date, but both Thor is still wildly popular and I can foresee them continuing these for quite awhile, especially with Avengers 2 coming out.

    Some ride/character questions

Matterhorn has bobsleds that are single person seats with 3 seats per car. Space Mountain is side by side seating, three rows per car. GRR can be done in Feb if it's a warm day, which there can be. It's been unseasonably warm here lately so it's totally possible. You could always do it last...

    Whale Watching

I've done the Dana Wharf one (also did a fishing trip with them) and really loved it. I would highly recommend them.

    Sports Bars

The most obvious one is ESPN Zone in downtown Disney (towards the hotels and movie theater). It won't be quiet though as it's pretty huge and popular.

    Fireworks in early March

Yes HM is Haunted Mansion. I'm not sure if there are always two shows in the offseason, but I suspect there will be. The only caution I would say for this approach is that you may see a bit of the ending of the first show, so if you are a complete first timer and don't want to spoil the show...

First Trip to California in June-concerned about the grad days, tips needed please

Saturdays aren't actually as bad as you might think because most Saturdays in the summer, only Premium APs are unblocked. I've gone on Saturdays in the summer and been pleasantly surprised by the crowds. Blocking all those APs really helps! I would for sure do San Diego on Friday and DL on...

    Fireworks in early March

People will do both, but those who rush over won't get a great spot for Fantasmic as people will be lining up there for several hours (usually around 6pm you see people saving spots). If you are doing second show, which is a great decision since it's much less crowded, I would advise heading...
