Do you think a minivan would hold two ECVs?

How small are the kids that are going? If its a comfortable fit you could put the two kids plus the third adult on the very back bench seat (I've sat on the back bench seat with two small/medium teenagers comfortably) and remove the two bucket seats in the middle. The two ECV's would go in the...

    Custom Wheels (and other things)!

I have the red Spinergy LX wheels with Natural Fit handrims. I don't think my NF's are "painted" but rather anodized. I have scratched my NF's on numerous occasions on things like concrete, brick, etc. and have had sharp burrs occur in the process. I take a fine sandpaper to make them smooth...

Bottom of beds open or boxed in?

I would call the special needs reservation line and have them PHYSICALLY go LOOK in the rooms and kick the bottom of the beds to see if they are boxed. In a "normal" room it makes sense to have a boxed bed b/c it keeps people from losing socks, shoes, souvenirs, etc under the bed. BUT...in a HC...

Buying Mobility Equipment for Disney Trip?

You might be interested in these. A friend of mine (a member here) has them and absolutely loves them. http://www.travelwheelchair.net/wheelchair-accessories-push-handle-extensions-c-3_33-l-en.html Mandy

requesting help finding a mobility device

I don't necessarily think that a power assist wheel is an option here, but I might be wrong. Power assist wheels use a sensor built into the handrim to sense the WC user pushing the chair. It then turns that push into forward momentum, so that the user doesn't have to push as hard to propel the...

    Trail's End allergy reviews?

I would think that making a reasonable accommodation for a person with a FA is REQUIRED under the ADA and that any restaurant (in or out of Disney) is required to accommodate that guests needs with the resources they have available. Changing something on the menu to be free of allergens with...

DLR - Riding with a Port?

If you have problems with jerky rides or coasters because of another health condition I would try and avoid the mountains (with the exception of splash possibly, if you can handle the drop) including space, matterhorn, and big thunder as they are all fast, jerky and have quick turns that could...

House phones/ landline at the parks?

Would a pay phone work as a landline? If your cardio company has an 800 number that you could call you wouldn't even have to pay to send in the recordings every time you needed to transmit the information. If a pay phone won't work my guess is you would be limited to First Aid and Guest...

My first GAC experience - Disneyland experiences and questions.

I will send you a PM on some of the current policies at DLR when using a GAC. As far as Star Tours, since there are stairs the WC goes through the queue until it reaches an elevator and you then take the elevator up. I haven't ridden Star Tours since it was re-done, so this might be different...

Go to our New New New Coupon Train Thread!

I have a bunch of coupons that I clipped from today's paper that I would like to send to someone who might be able to use them. They are for the most part quick use (by Thursday) but there are some really good coupons. I also have many clipped coupons that have longer expiration dates on them...

    HELP! Getting really nervous...

MyFourTreasures, I fixed the first photo for you so it works now. Also, I use electrical tape since it is not super sticky and hard to get off the chair. To keep my chair scratch free I always have bicycle handlebar grip tape covering the down tubes (from the seat to the footrest) as you can...

    HELP! Getting really nervous...

Hi there, First of all take a deep breath. While you may not have the tie downs on your DD's wheelchair now (she may be your "China Girl" but she is also your DD, so feel free to use any term that you are comfortable with. In public if you introduce her as your China Girl, feel free to use that...

Does it help to have doctor notes for the TSA process?

The TSA doesn't care much about cards or letters. If you set off their equipment you are "suspect" just like others they profile (yet they claim they don't profile...COME ON!). My suggestion is that if your mom can walk and has TITANIUM implants she can go through the metal detector without much...

    Need some assistance

I am more than happy to look for you and either purchase it and send it to you, or provide you with the information you need to purchase it through the phone number given earlier. If I hear of any of my friends going to the parks before I do I will have them do a quick check. Do you know what...

    Aladdin ending at some point?

If and when the Disney lawyers allow it to happen. They are very lucky that the two performers who were up there were not seriously injured or killed, but that doesn't mean they don't have a potential lawsuit on their hands still. I'm sure they have to figure out why the system failed, what they...

Do the DL on-site resorts generally have summer specials?

Unlike WDW, new attractions at DLP/DCA do not usually get FP as soon as the attractions open. TSM still does not have FP. The Little Mermaid does not have FP, etc. I would be very surprised if Cars Land has FP access from the opening.
