    How to surprise kids?

When we took our five year old for the first time for his birthday, we surprised him on the morning of our trip. When he woke up, we sat him down in front of the tv and showed him the Disney planning DVD. We had already watched it many times together, but always told him that we couldn't do a...

    Cribs at Disney

Thanks, y'all! We'll just use Disney's pack and play. That will leave us extra room in our van for other stuff. :)

    Cribs at Disney

My family will be traveling to Disney with a 7 month old, and I was wondering if we should request a crib from Disney or bring our pack and play. We'll be staying at Kidani. Does anyone have pictures of the cribs from Disney, or experiences with using the crib as opposed to a pack and play...

Just back from a long weekend...thoughts on new attractions...

I actually really enjoyed Little Mermaid, so much so that I rode it twice. The first time I breezed through directly to get on the ride, the second time I stood in line. It seemed like the line moved slowly, but it actually was faster than the wait time indicated. I know this because I got in...

Weather report - anyone down there?

I just left today, and the weather was much cooler than it had been earlier in the week. Previously it had been extremely humid and warm, but today I definitely needed pants. I listened to the weather report each morning before heading out, and the meteorologists were fairly accurate in...

How close are Beauty and the Beast and Fantasmic?

Yes, but we definitely want to see the 6:30 showing because it's our first night in Disney, and we don't want to be out too late. We're going back to HS another day, so we can always hit Beauty and the Beast then. :)

How close are Beauty and the Beast and Fantasmic?

Thank you. I hadn't even considered wind or water--definitely don't want to be too close.

How close are Beauty and the Beast and Fantasmic?

Would it be possible to catch a 5:45 show of Beauty and the Beast, then see Fantasmic at 6:30? I've never seen Fantasmic, so I'm not sure where it even is or how much time to allow to get there and find a viewing area.

Rainforest Cafe in Animal Kingdom any thoughts???

I had dinner there in May, and the food was just alright, comparable to a Chili's. The service was terrible, though, and the atmosphere was way too noisy for us. Even the six year old didn't like it. It was the worst dining experience our whole trip.

GF Orecchiette Pasta - Chicken or Shrimp?

I ate there a few months ago, and I had chicken. I believe they offered it both ways, I'm not sure.

    Rainforest cafe at AK?

We went for dinner in May, and hated it. We walked in with no wait time probably sometime between 5:30 and 6. Our waitress was terrible--she forgot things we asked for, never visited our table frequently, etc. Our table was right near the kitchen where the staff kept parading from carrying...

    Just Back!

I'm glad to hear that R&C was good. We may check it out for lunch, since we're starting World Showcase on that side.

    Just Back!

I'd like to know how the Plaza and Rose & Crown were.

What's a good place at MK for lunch?

Another vote for Liberty Tree Tavern. There are plenty of options if you want something different from the turkey/mashed potatoes that their dinner is known for. I had a great salad there. The pot roast is excellent as well.

Ever been picked to open MK?

Thanks for sharing, everyone! I kind of have the mindset that it does need to happen naturally. Who knows, luck may be on my side. :) But ultimately, it doesn't matter, because I'm already going to be in the most magical place in the world. If I got chosen, it would just be the cherry on top...

Ever been picked to open MK?

And if so, how did you get picked? I'm always so envious of those who get the special experience of opening the park with the CMs! It's my dream, lol! :) So if you've ever been picked, what was the experience like, and was it worth all my hype?

Where would you go for an anniversary dinner?

These are all great suggestions! The Turf Club would be convenient, since we're staying at SSR. We've eaten the breakfast at 'Ohana and loved it, and I've always wanted to try the dinner, so it is a contender.

    SSR--any advice?

It makes me feel good to hear such positive feedback. At first I was worried that we wouldn't have as great a time staying at SSR as we did at AKL, which we loved. But after doing some more research and seeing more pictures, I'm starting to feel excited! Just four more months!

    Mickey Waffles

Where would you go for an anniversary dinner?

We're into American food (love a good steak!), but also like really good Italian and Mexican. Not a big fan of buffets. We have eaten at San Angel Inn before and enjoyed it, but kind of want to try something new.
