Quick weekend trip to MVMCP on 11/16

Quick weekend trip to WDW, mainly for MVMCP on Sunday night, November 16th. Flew in around noon on Saturday and after a quick lunch at Whispering Canyon Cafe (the shtick was fun, the pulled pork a bit fatty), headed off to Hollywood Studios. FP+ were Toy Story, Star Tours and the Frozen...

Q on annual passes vs magic bands

So I renewed my AP online several months back. I recently got my magic band for a trip commencing next week. The AP shows up on My Dis Experience under my name. Is the band all I need when I visit? Or will I need to pick up a plastic annual pass card at customer service? Thanks - can't...

    Loved Magic Bands!

I also found the Magic Band experience to be better than expected. Devices were comfortable and very convenient - my only negative was that it did take some effort to make sure the "mickeys" were lined up just right with the terminal. Having said that, it was liberating not to have to keep...

    Hotel suggestions for a 5 & 3 year old?

Let me second the comment on the Contemporary - it is certainly expensive, but the advantage of being able to walk 10-15 minutes out the door to the Magic Kingdom is huge, especially when traveling with little ones. They'll also love watching the monorail come through the hotel lobby.

Saratoga Springs vs Old Key West?

I've stayed at both and while both have their merits, I give the edge to OKW as it feels more like a little community ("Conch Flats"), with a cute "town center" and smaller buildings in general. While I found the OKW 2BR to be a bit more dated than the SSR equivalent, it made up for it with...

    Which resort? Contemporary or Boardwalk?

Both are very nice, but I give the edge to the Contemporary because you will have the ability to walk 10-15 minutes to the Magic Kingdom. Do not underestimate how useful this can be especially with kids - it gives you the ability to quickly go back to the resort for a midday nap, and lets you...

    My Disney Experience for DVC

thanks! do you think i should add that number to the MDX account that shares the DVC user ID and password, or to the account I was told to use for non-DVC activities? (I am guessing the former?)

    My Disney Experience for DVC

Like many, I am a bit confused about using My Dis Experience with DVC. I have two My Dis accounts, don't ask me why. But I recall a conversation I had with customer service where they told me I should use one account for DVC-related reservations and activity, and the other if I visit WDW...

    Italy: Viva Italia Meets Thread

Hi all, can any travelers weigh in on luggage strategies? My wife and I are booked for the mid-September Italy trip and I am trying to figure out the best approach. I had been thinking that we would each pack super efficiently into separate 20" carryons and travel very light. But obviously...

    MNSSHP 2012 Official Information

I was there the night of the 4th too, and the rain and lightning were awful. I credit Disney for at least giving people an option of a raincheck or even a refund - but the process for doing this was crazy and even dangerous. A growing mob of people attempting to squeeze through one open door...

    MNSSHP & BBB Potential Pitfall?

Thanks for the thoughts. We're actually arriving in Orlando around noon the same day. I really wanted the kids to be able to rest up a little prior to the MNSSHP festivities, so not sure I can do a BBB session much earlier. Might be better to skip it and do it another time!

    MNSSHP & BBB Potential Pitfall?

For those who may have scheduled a Bibbidy Bobbity Boutique appt right before MNSSHP - did you have a problem with them running on time? I have heard stories that they get incredibly backed up before MNSSHP and can see 1 hour or more delays. Anyone have this experience? Thanks. Rich

    Wishes Dessert Party

We've done the Dessert Party twice now and it's a great way to enjoy the fireworks without dealing with the crush of people on Main Street and in front of the castle. The way they list times is indeed confusing - first time we showed up early, second time we showed up late. There was no...

    MNSSHP Pick-a-Date Question

Excited to be doing our first MNSSHP this year. We're choosing from three dates - Thursday 10/4, Friday 10/5 or Sunday 10/7. First inclination was to choose Thursday, but that is our arrival day (noon) and I worry kids may get too tired as the evening goes on. Second thought was Sunday...
