We haven't been down since the implementation of the Magic Bands. So the bands are loaded with the DVC member info and you scan to get to the lounge these days?
Do it all the time. We will usually start out in a studio for 1/2 the time then upgrade to a 1br. If the number of the party stays the same, I always found it better to upgrade during the trip than downgrade.
I just wanted to point out that those who own a Vero Beach or Hilton Head won't show up in a search of the Orange County Comptroller's website, as those properties are not in Orange County.
I just don't want to see any of those owners get mistakenly "red-flagged" because they did not show up...
I have to admit I have never had a problem with the 7 month window and getting where/when I wanted.
Then again, I usually travel in the spring (May) and the fall (Sept/Oct). I have never tried to get in somewhere during the really busy times like sping break or Xmas. That would probably be...
I didn't tell when I bought my house and nothing happened. I was planning to just say "Opps, it gets automaticlly taken from my account so I don't even think about it" if they found out, but it never came up.
I remember when we first joined in '00 that the points required for a room at the non-DVC Disney resorts was a heck of alot more equitable. Then it was like in '01 or '02 that the points per night skyrocketed. Does anyone know what happened?
I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have an existing ressie for a 1BR @ BCV for 5/15 they may be looking to get out of? Trying to surprise my wife and need one more night to complete our stay!
Thanks!
Having rented my points out in the past, I did the math, and based on a studio room for a week, it roughly works out to be getting a Deluxe Resort room for the price of a Moderate.
I would just like to thank all those who expressed interest in renting our points.
We do rent out our points from time to time and I look forward to helping folks out in the future.
Thanks again.
Frank
Well, just my 2 cents.....
We bought at Vero becuase of the good deals per point they were running, and actually have yet to go there.
Been to WDW 4 years running and have never had a problem getting a reservation where we wanted in the 7 month window. I hear "buy where you want to stay"...
We were just renting 2004 points, but we decided to rent our 2005 points as well totaling 479. We are asking $10 per point. Borrowing into 2004 is no problem.
Points are good at any DVC resort; home resort is Vero Beach.
Please PM me if interested.
Thanks.
