They don't have a source because it's definitely not true. No one is suppose to give out a pick up time over the phone. They should refer you to your paper work that is on your door the day before check out, as things change all the time.

I'd recommend calling DME and moving your pick up time 30-60 mins earlier. That way you won't be rushed at the airport. Upon arrival to the airport you can call the airline to request a skycap for assistance with your luggage. . They get paid by tips so they will very rarely wait around for you...

I'll regularly walk a loop from the dhs parking lot to the epcot parking lot and back. walking and the boat take about the same amount of time when you factor in boat stops. Its about 1 mile, so my leisurely walking pace is about 20 mins from gate to gate.

Just a small correction to that. Besides the bus drivers, every person you interact with over the phone (unless you intentionally call Mears for some reason) and in person regarding DME is a full fledged disney cast member.

For what it's worth, at the Mears counter next to the DME weclome center, you can buy roundtrip tickets on DME between MCO and Boardwalk. It's about $25 one way or $50 round trip per person.
