I'm just wondering if something wasn't available online but when calling got different availability.

Did anyone who called get a room that wasn't available online? Both CSR and sports had preferred only.

The same exact resort (CSR) for 6 nights for almost the same dates (Christmas week) it is $800 more this year than last year. It's mostly the fact that we have to upgrade to the DDP plus the ticket price increase.

We haven't tried all the signature restaurants yet (we're working on it) but two of our absolute favorites are California Grill and Flying Fish. Actually CG has now become a tradition for Christmas Day.

DH has to have his Starbucks every morning and usually again in the evening so lots of our snack credits go towards that. I'm really excited we get 2 snacks a day this year. That's 48 snacks for the 4 of us. I just wish we were visiting during F&W with all these snacks. For the rest of us we...

Ohana was one of our least favorite along with Cape May and Hollywood & Vine. Also, we had a bad experience at Yachtsman Steakhouse and probably won't go back for a while.

I 100% agree. My 2 older kids are now 15 and 9 and after doing all the character meals that interested them at the time, when given a choice they always pick signature restaurants. My oldest almost always orders filet mignon.

That's what I plan to do as well but I'm horrible at taking a nap so we shall see. IF DV were to get the promo before everyone else it would probably drop tomorrow. But if I recall correctly, they haven't done an early promo release for DV in the last couple years. Yup, those are our reasons...

Our first trip was 2008 and then we've gone every year since 2011. All our trips have been on Disney property with free dining and we like to stay at a different resort each time. Since our family still fits in one room, I haven't found off site to be a better deal yet.

I think because we are going Christmas week rates off site are higher. Or I'm not looking in the right places. And being on Disney property gives us the EMH which is pretty helpful during this busy week.

I really don't understand how off-site saves money. After taking into account the $20/day parking at the parks, the $20-30/night resort fee and $15-20/night self parking fee it comes out way more expensive than on property. We have been driving down to FL for the last two trips and it's so much...

In our case, we are most likely going to book a moderate anyway and upgrade to regular DDP. Now that we are a family of 5 (1 under age 3) the value rooms are really tight. Also, since we are going Christmas week, any RO will not cover our entire stay.

We have been booking FD every year since 2011. I really hope the rumor about mods only getting QSDP turns out incorrect. After crunching the numbers, booking a value or moderate resort with FD and upgrading to DDP would cost us an extra $1000 than booking just the hotel and tickets separately...

I just checked our dates in December again and almost every resort is showing sold out. When I checked just a few hours ago there was plenty of availability even the mermaid rooms at AoA. They must be updating something. Don't know what to think.
