Is there a reason why people find the need to stand during Parades/Fireworks/Stage shows

I have knee problems as well and, if I sit on the ground, you might as well go get a crane to get me back up! I'm also quite short, so I do try to get as close to the front of the line as possible. I don't take up that much room, so it usually works out ok for me.

    Restaurant Marrakesh

I've dined solo there, as well as most other Disney restaurants, and you have nothing to worry about. This is a restaurant in Epcot, not in the actual country of Morocco, where my advice would most likely be quite different. Maybe. No idea, really.

    Restaurant Marrakesh

Actually, skip dessert here and run over to Spice Road Table for either their Pistachios and Saffron Custard (my favorite dessert in Epcot!) or the Chocolate Pyramid. Can't go wrong with either of those!

    Restaurant Marrakesh

I love Marrakesh! My favorite dish there is the Couscous with Vegetables. The Harira Soup is really good too. The service is always good, and there's usually live music and even a belly dancer, depending on when you get there.

Are you for or against plastic shopping bag bans?

I'm against the ban because I reuse every single plastic bag I ever get. I use grocery bags as garbage bags on a daily basis, and also use them to dispose of cat litter (triple bagged because it's heavy and I don't want the bags to rip open). I live in a condo and we have a garbage chute. This...

    No more cards for passholders?

Indeed. However, purchasing an AP does make you eligible for a free magic band. This is what I'm talking about, not a MYW ticket.

    No more cards for passholders?

That may be the case, but I've been renewing every year and every time I get my AP magic band (which is additional to those you get with a resort stay), it comes with a plastic card. Except for this time. I'm not a first-time AP buyer. In fact, I had to renew early this year in order to be able...

    No more cards for passholders?

That's what I thought. I'm inclined to think the CM I spoke to was making it up on the go. :)

    No more cards for passholders?

Not sure if this is a rumor, a fact, or what. I recently renewed my Florida Resident annual pass and ordered my AP magic band. When I got the magic band, I also expected to get a plastic card, as you usually need those to get discounts, and it's handy to have if you forget to wear your magic...

New Jersey DIS Meet - Calling Those in NJ, NY, DE, MD, PA, & Beyond!

Hi, Will there be a new thread when y'all start planning next year's NJ meet? I'm interested in attending next year and combine it with seeing my last remaining uncle, who lives in Roselle NJ. I would have liked to attend this year, if it hadn't been so soon after my mom's passing (he's my...

    Restaurant for a quiet dinner?

And who's to say I won't try it too? :) That Sunday night is the one I was most concerned about, being Mothers' Day and all. I might try Il Molino one of the other nights. I have an ADR for the Star Wars character breakfast at the Sci Fi Dine-in on Monday morning, and breakfast at Be Our Guest...

    Restaurant for a quiet dinner?

Ok, I think I've made my decision. I made an ADR for Monsieur Paul. I may change my mind. I usually change my ADRs a million times before the actual trip, but I think I'd like to keep this one.

    Restaurant for a quiet dinner?

The consensus seems to be that resort restaurants are going to be, on the whole, more quiet than any park restaurant. Makes sense.

    Restaurant for a quiet dinner?

Oh, but I DO drink! It's more the possibility of other people sitting next to me and attempting to engage me in conversation that gives me pause. I'm generally not much of a people person. Pretty shy, actually. Someone mentioned Monsieur Paul, and that could work too. I was there just before it...

    Restaurant for a quiet dinner?

I was thinking of Il Molino too as a possibility. I'm not a steak person, so a steak house wouldn't be my first choice. Of course, I'm sure they have more than just steaks. I've heard only good things about Jiko, but I wouldn't go unless I was staying at one of the AK resorts. It's a bit of a...

    Restaurant for a quiet dinner?

Thank you for your replies. I'll take a look at the restaurants in the Swan and Dolphin, and check the menu for Tokyo Dining. I assume they have more than sushi, which I don't eat. And yes, I'll be alone, but I don't know that I would want to sit at any bar. I much prefer to sit at a table. I'll...

    Restaurant for a quiet dinner?

Is Shula's quiet? I kinda thought it was more of a sports bar feel. Am I wrong?

    Restaurant for a quiet dinner?

I'll be going to WDW May 10-14, my first Disney trip after my mom's passing. I'll get there precisely on Mothers Day. I'd like to make an ADR at a quiet restaurant for that night. Totally not in the mood for anything loud and boisterous. Can anyone recommend a quiet restaurant, preferably in...

    Photo Pass vs. Memory Maker?

Wow, $15 per digital image? That's a lot! Although on a solo trip I might not want more than a handful anyway. And I do carry my camera with me at all times, so I can always hand it to the Photo pass photographer. So maybe 3-4 with my camera and another 3-4 Photo pass. It might work out for me...

    Photo Pass vs. Memory Maker?

Thank you for your answer about this and about avatars and tickers. I set mine up, but when I click on "preview", I'm not seeing my signature at all. Should I see it? :( Edit: And there it is! Preview doesn't actually preview it. :) Have a great evening, y'all! Nora
