Which would you chose? D90 or D7000

I was ther a little aver a year ago. At that time the camera shops told me that Nikon is trying to phase out the D90. After a close look at the feel of both the 90 and 7000 as well as the features I figured that the price difference just wasn't worth it. the 90 has been a great fit for me...

    Nikon D3100 vs Nikon D90

I too went with the D90 this summer. The bigger and more solid build than the 3100 and 5100 was a large factor. The in-body focus motor giving more possibilities of lens choices for the future was a plus too. I looked at the 7000 and it seemed closer to the 90 than the 5100 but the price was...

Can I Buy SDHC cards at the parks??

go to your local stor brfore you leave for vaca and buy some extra cards but dont open the packaging and when you get home return the un used ones. saves lots of cash over buying in the parks and they are so small and light it won't kill the weight of your bags.

How many pics on this memory card??

i get about 400 pics on my D90 with Raw+jpeg fine on my 8gb cards. For the price it is just easier to buy a couple extra cards. figure how many cards you think you need then double it but don't open the package or loose the receipt then return the un-used cards after vacation. it will take...

    Shutters from the Wonder?

We got back from our alaska cruise a week ago and finally finished going thru all our pictures to realize that nobody's personal camera got a character shot that we really wanted. The shutters photographers got it but we thought it was on our camera so we didn't buy it on the ship... Does anyone...

    Need Help Please

You may not need that extra video camera since your D3100 has full HD video abilities however there is no continous autofocus with the DSLR. depends on how you think the video will work. If you and your subject stay a set distance away the lack of auto focus wont be a problem and you can always...

I'm a bit overwhelmed with the online photo sharing options. What do you all use and what are their pros and cons. I'm looking for backing up my collection as well as sharing with my friends and family but not necessarily the whole world. Thanks, Dustin

    Processing Foggy Photos

on a similar note. We just got back from the Disney cruise in Alaska where it decided to be rainy and foggy on most of our port days. is there a way to edit some of the fog gray blah out of the pictures, especially those from the high in the mountians or on the water? all my whale picks are...

ANyone have experience with the Nikon AF 50mm F1.8D lens?

just a little side note... your camera is a "crop" the 50mm has a 35mm equivilance of 80mm which puts it close to the telephoto length. to see if you like that focal depth take your kit lens and zoom to 50mm take some shots and see what you think then take shome shots zoomed to 35mm. compare...

    Nikon D-5100 & D-7000

I believe that those 2 cameras use the same sensor so the pictures will be essentially the same. The 7000 is a pro model with a heavier build and more weather sealing. Have you considered the D90? it is pro-sumer kinda half way between the two you have listed and a price of around 900-1000...

    photos in the rain?

An impressive thunderstorm rolled thru this evening just before dusk and I grabbed the camera trying to catch the rain falling and splashing in the pool. I couldn't seen to blur the falling rain and still show the splashes. I could use fast enough shudders for the splash but it lost the effect...
