Recent DREAM cruisers - kids club age cutoff?

Just got back from the 3/22-3/27 Dream cruise. There was no problem whatsoever checking my 11 year old into the Lab. At checkin, they said he could go to the Edge, but I told them I wanted him to be with his 8-year old sister. They checked them both right in.

Kids Clubs Age Restrictions Aboard the Dream

Thank you SOOOOO much for this post. You have really put my mind at ease. I was starting to get nervous with the "strict enforcement" posts popping up here and there. As long as we have that flexibility, I think everything will work out fine.

Kids Clubs Age Restrictions Aboard the Dream

I have the exact same situation - 11 and 8 year olds that we want to keep together. When I made my reservation for the Dream in early February, I specifically asked if they could be together in the clubs. Disney told me that 11 and 12 year olds could choose either the Edge or the Lab. This...

    I second that! Super helpful!

11 year old moving down to Club?

That sounds like a reasonable explanation for why we keep hearing different things. Our cruise was pretty undersold when we booked - until they released a bunch of deals. Now it looks pretty full. Hopefully, all those cabins weren't taken up by families with 10 year old kids! Fingers...

11 year old moving down to Club?

I have been trying to get a solid answer to this for a few days now. When I booked my cruise a few months ago, I specifically asked Disney if my 11 and 8 year olds could be together in the clubs. They told me that 11 and 12 year olds could choose between the Lab or the Edge. This was...

Recent DREAM cruisers - kids club age cutoff?

Glad to see I'm not the only one. Hopefully, someone just back with the same issue will see this thread and tell us what's up. All I know is Disney told me kids up to 12 could be in the lab, and I have read numerous posts about 11 year olds being allowed in the lab. When I read today in the...

Recent DREAM cruisers - kids club age cutoff?

Thank you. This is actually our second Disney cruise - the first was 8 years ago before my daughter was born (my wife was actually pregnant at the time). My then 3 year old son loved the club. We haven't been back because I'm not a huge cruise fan. We decided to give it another shot...

Have they wrecked the Kids' Clubs?

I don't believe in double standards either. I am not asking for exceptions or flexibility. I want to know what the rules are before booking, and then have those actually be the rules when I get on the ship. If Disney had told me that the age cutoff was 10, no exceptions (which is what I was...

Recent DREAM cruisers - kids club age cutoff?

Thanks - that post about strict enforcement has me freaked out. May I ask how recent your cruise was? Phil also, in the second post?

Recent DREAM cruisers - kids club age cutoff?

I started this discussion in the "have they wrecked the kids clubs" thread, but there is a lot of other stuff in there and I am looking for specific information. My kids are 11 and 8. When I booked the cruise, I specifically asked if they could be together in the kids club. Disney told me...

Have they wrecked the Kids' Clubs?

I think they have changed the rules. The Lab was allowing up to 12 year olds, according to the Disney rep that I spoke to at booking (and according to the post below yours). I appreciate the input, but it looks like this is going to be a game day situation. I'll find out the hard way in 2 weeks.

Have they wrecked the Kids' Clubs?

Thanks. In fact, when I booked, Disney told me that the lab would allow up to 12 year olds (I was using 11 since that's my situation). They said the 11 and 12 year olds would have the option to go the the Edge. I don't want my 11 year old running around unsupervised either, but my main...

Have they wrecked the Kids' Clubs?

The cruise contract doesn't say anything about the kids clubs. It does reserve the right to change ports and routes. It is mostly a release of liability for almost everything they could think of. Disney did tell me that my kids could be together in the kids club. That statement induced me...

Have they wrecked the Kids' Clubs?

This is very disconcerting to me. When we booked our cruise a few months ago, we specifically asked Disney if our 11 year old and 8 year old could be in the lab together. They said yes, that the 11 year old could choose the Lab or the Edge. In fact, we chose Disney over other cruise lines due...

    UG crowd predictions

First time I saw this as well. I would take it with a grain of salt. Since I live in Florida, all of my trips are over the weekend, and I have learned through personal experience that you NEVER go to the MK on Saturday. EVER. I also noticed they had very low crowds indicated for October...

leaving in 2 days - Will Call- help!?!

I am fairly sure you can pick up will-call tickets at the Guest Services office in Downtown Disney. That should solve your parking problem. I would call first though to make sure you don't waste your time.

What resort is best for staying at with 2 year old

Another vote for a monorail resort. It's soooo much better dealing with getting in and out of the MK parking debacle if you can get directly there on a monorail. At that age, you will probably be spending more time at MK than the other parks. I have a couple of other observations, too: At...

    POTC - How young?

We first took my DS when he was about 16 mos old and he cried when he got OFF. We had to ride it about 4 times that first trip. When we would go back (every 3 or 4 months, we live close by), the first thing he would want to do was see the pirates. One of his first words was Pirate (which he...

    check on AP rates

It looks like EWK is a straight $90 discount on the deluxes, so the more expensive the room, the less the percentage off. At the low end, $90 off of a $199 WL or AKL room is a 45% discount. The same discount at a $299 room at the Poly is only 30%. I know in the past they have given...
