    too many restrants

Must book ahead for Mickey's (we tried on arrival and could only get a booking for 2200 hours) and I believe it can be a bit of a scrum when the characters appear. - Haven't experienced it myself. Inventions - expensive but character interaction second to none. Food pretty darn fabulous. All...

    Hotels/Fastpass

There are 2 fastpasses. Regular - swipe your ticket through the machine and get a 'time window' to return and walk into the fastpass queue. (cannot swipe between 1-4pm) VIP - Don't need to swipe - just flash the pass and walk into the fastpass queue. (How to get?) Disneyland paris...

Edinburgh to DLP - Day 2

Inventions is a lot of money but I honestly think it is worth it. The array of starters was worth it on its own!! The casual manner in which the characters meet the kids is also priceless. They take time and make it special.

Edinburgh to DLP - Day 4 - Last day

Thanks - On reflection it was extremely fun-packed and I hope we would do it slightly better next time but to be honest it is the experience and enjoyment of the kids that makes it memorable.

Edinburgh to DLP - Day 4 - Last day

It is now all very hazy so there will definitely be less detail. As this was the last day we had to try to get another Crush’s Coaster in which meant, unless we could get in quick before the ride opened, we were potentially facing another 85 minute wait. So plan was to have breakfast, check out...

Edinburgh to DLP - Day 3

Day 3 Now forgive me but the facts are now merging and becoming confused so (and I know you won’t know but I feel obliged to confess) bear with me... Up with the proverbial lark – 0700. Sophie had to be woken so was a tad grumpy until she realised she had another fun packed Disney day ahead of...

Edinburgh to DLP - Day 2

Alarm off – up - showers and out with military-like precision – well pretty much! Girls donned their Edinburgh Mickey shirts and we were good to go. EMH is a good idea but you have to remember that all the other residents of Disney Hotels have access which is still a lot of people. Also –...

Edinburgh to DLP - Day 1

The airport's a decent size now. Plenty of shops and eating places.

Edinburgh to DLP - Day 1

Day 1 Cast: Me – Dawn (50) and the cousins - Lisa (41), Stuart (39), Lucy (9), Sophie (4). First visit for me but the cousins have been a couple of times. Staying at Disneyland Hotel for 3 nights 18th, 19th, 20th April 2011. Flying from Edinburgh Airport on Easyjet flight at 1350 made for a...

Is this usual? I'd like to know if it's just me.....

I think it is a precaution against theft and to be honest I think it is valid as there is so much going on that it is easy to walk away without paying. The security in the whole park struck me as being very lax with many opportunities for dishonesty. Probably just me ... 30 years in the police...

    Incident on BTM

It was the last ride I went on with my family on 21/04/11. And as horrible as it is there is always an element of risk in theme parks - that is waht makes it so thriling but what needs to be confirmed that there was no negligence.

Restaurant reservations in September - how important?

Just returned. Tried to book Cafe Mickey on a Tuesday or Wednesday and could only get a 10pm reservation - too late for kids. Luckily we were staying at DLH where there were many character moments so we didn't bother in the end. Enjoy your trip.

Got back Thursday after 1st trip

Just about regaining my strength!! Fighting the compulsion to join every queue I see. Short report (will do a proper report) - weather glorious - DLH Hotel worth every penny - rides awesome - seeing the looks on the faces of the kids priceless. Queuing in the sun takes the edge off but...

    best times

My advice is to book as soon as possible. I was there with family Mon, Tues and Wed. Tried booking when we arrived but could only get 10pm booking or 3pm without characters!!!! It is very busy now. Don't want you to be disappointed.

    Pizza at Cafe Mickeys

Just back this very evening. We planned to go to Cafe Mickey but when we went to book we were told the only booking was for 10pm both nights or lunch at 3pm with no characters. If you are going I would suggest you book now.

Off in an hour....thanks to everyone

Well, packed and ready - heading to airport in an hour. Just a wee note to thank everyone on the disboards. The information had been invaluable although I am sure we will arrive and all 'plans' will go out of the window. 4 and 9 year olds don't really do plans do they? I will try to pay...

    Levels of scary!!!!

Thanks to all. As suspected, scary is very subjective . Unfortunately I think `Crush` will be too much for Sophie and she is loving the movie Nemo at the moment. She may be comforted by a Nemo toy. I, however will experience every scary moment... who says Disney is just for the kids?
