    groceries for infant?

We had success with wegoshop--they'll shop at whatever store you want. You pay the actual price, plus a delivery fee. We prefer it because we can get exact brands.

walmart with disney stuff near disney

FTR, Target is closer (on I-192) and also has a lot of Disney stuff. Both have plenty of stuff like beach towels, t-shirts, etc., in a section right by the entrance. That's handy because both stores are super centers and HUGE!

Opinions please! MK the first day, or wait?

I like to save MK for last when they're little. Otherwise, they expect the same level of fun and magic in the other parks, which aim a little older. There's plenty of fun to be had in any of the other three, even if she doesn't fully appreciate Epcot, for example.

What happens when your kid chickens out?

You might want to check on the height requirements before you go. EE is 44", as is Space Mountain. We always had a parent leave with the child if he/she chickened out. It sucks, bu tit is what it is. It was usually me, since I'm not such a thrill ride person. FTR, my 16yo STILL won't...

"American Horror Story: Coven" — What did you think?

I'm sure Madison will come back--it's early in the season yet. I'm not sure Jessica Lange's character will still be alive when the final credits roll. At first, I thought the minotaur was Angela Basset's lover, but now I'm wondering if he's her son. She's clearly kept him alive all this...

Creative Ideas for Spouse Survival at WDW

This is what I keep coming back to. I'm sympathetic to the OP, as I have 4 kids, and my DH goes to conferences sometimes. They try to do the annual pump convention someplace interesting every year, and it's in July, so we always look into it. It's never worked out for us. And his company...

Creative Ideas for Spouse Survival at WDW

Personally, I wouldn't do it. Any of it. It sounds too much like you're trying to fit a WDW vacation around a work event, and something is going to have to give. I don't see how you're going to be able to concentrate on the conference if you have your infant with you, unless he sleeps the...

    Your "Oh, I wish I would've brought..."

I get one of those little scrubbing brushes that you fill with dish soap--they sometimes sell them in the $ Spot at Target. I fill it, and throw it into a ziploc--plenty of soap to clean a few things all week. I couldn't find the soap-saturated dishcloths around here. When we stay offsite...

    Large Family tips and discussion

We're a family of 6, and we much prefer the space of off-site accommodations. It helps, particularly, when you have more than one bedtime. Plus, the full kitchen allows for cost savings on some meals. We've rented minivans cheaply through Costco. I'm not a member, but someone from here...

Curious what everyone thinks about this

+1 on all of this. I'm a former EMT/EMT Instructor, and also a college graduate. Believe me, EMT class was much, much easier than my college classes. If this is your son's passion, he's going to have to put more of himself into it. Knowing how competitive med school is--both getting in and...

    Amazing Race!

Me, too. At least they were good sports about it. Pink can leave any time--she's beyond irritating. She's quite the queen bee with that extra Express Pass, isn't she?

Attending Wishes Dessert Party with a Guest in a Wheelchair

I went to the Dessert party in Jan. with my two children (9 and 6 at the time). It was a last-minute decision, they fill the tables based on when you book, so I figured we wouldn't have the best view. What happened was, my kids went up and stood at the rail--they were invited by the people...

    SPD vs RO for Beachclub

We're paying about $300/night for Beach Club--definitely NOT cheap! But, our TA was looking at 2 rooms (due to 5 people), trying to get us continental breakfast, airport shuttle, etc., so it probably would have saved ~$150 to do the cheap hotel route. But then you throw in going to baggage...

You want to keep the kids up HOW late??

Ah, a house with a pool...what a treat for the little guys! I must warn you, we've done offsite house rentals a few times. I have 4 kids over an 11-year span, and they couldn't agree that the sky is blue. But, they all agree 100% that a rental house with a pool is the COOLEST THING EVER...

    SPD vs RO for Beachclub

For us, the RO discount was a better deal by ~$150. We are doing 5 for 7 nights at the Beach Club, kids ages 16, 10, and 7. So, even with 4 "adults", RO was a better deal. Added bonus in my case, DH balked at the price initially, so we dropped dining and park hoppers. We may add them...

    Gratuity on the dinning plan

Yes, the bills do have "suggested tip amount" and lists both 18% and 20%. Feel free to go up or down from there.

You want to keep the kids up HOW late??

One thing to keep in mind--not all kids will sleep (or sleep well) in a stroller. Mine never did. Ever. And I have 4! You don't know how I envied those parents whose kids were contentedly snoozing away while the family continued to enjoy the parks! If you know your kids will, then this is a...

You want to keep the kids up HOW late??

It really depends on how you plan to tour, and how well your kids adapt. Check the park hours--if parks are closing early, probably not a huge deal to stay through the fireworks. Also, it depends on if you're rope drop people and/or afternoon nap people. If your kids are fairly flexible, you...

    Dining on a budget

Another alternative, if your girls are Cinderella fans, is the dinner at 1900 Park Fare. It has the characters from Cinderella (stepsisters, Prince Charming) and a much better deal than CRT. Note: If you want a variety of princesses, Akershus is the better bet. My DD9 and DS6 LOVED 1900 Park...

Divorce is finally FINAL! Trip to Disney??

May I suggest you talk to your son about a possible trip, and get his input? As a PP mentioned, he might not be game just yet, or he might relish having something to look forward to. Also, not every 16yo boy would pick WDW for a vacation destination. Some would, including mine--we're going...
