    DisneyQuest?

DisneyQuest (and I should mention that I haven't had a chance to experience it myself) has some pretty unique attractions in it. They're "games" in the sense that they're interactive experiences, but they have more in common with something like Toy Story Mania or Sum of All Thrills, so they...

    Fantasmic & Illuminations question

It depends on the kids. First question to ask yourself is do they even LIKE fireworks or do they cry all through the Fourth of July? Illuminations is very intense for the first few minutes, then it chills out a little, building to the triumphant grand finale. It's the best evening show in...

Chicken and bird phobia at animal kingdom

With a phobia that serious, I would avoid Florida... :( That's not going to help you though, is it? I guess you could talk to Guest Services? They're incredibly sympathetic to guests with unusual concerns and I'm sure they've heard it all.

    Is this allowed?

In short, no. Just, no. Except during the Halloween Party, and even then... The reason is that Disney World security would rather just flat-out not allow adults who have not gone through the rigorous training and -more importantly- extensive background checks required for WDW Character actors...

    just got a smart phone

Based off what I use on my iPhone: Obviously, DISBoards mobile so you can keep up with us. ;) Disney World Magic Guide is very nice. Even though it does many of the same things the official Disney Mobile Magic app can do, you don't actually have to be in the park for it to work correctly and...

OMD - Oh My Disney blog launched

I understand it's just launched but so far this blog is... odd. Like they're trying to jump the gun when it comes to news aggregator websites doing funny posts about Disney, but it's actually owned by Disney ("The mockery is coming from inside the house!!!"), so they can't say anything too...

Kingdom Keepers - How young is too young?

Here be spoilers! Kingdom Keepers is one of those weird cases where the reader must be old enough not to be freaked out by a scene where the main characters almost drown while trapped inside the Winnie the Pooh ride (as an aside, this author really has it out for the most innocuous rides in...

How Well Do Your Kids Really Know the Classics?

:headache: I'm very sorry, and I'm not quoting this to be mean-spirited, but all I can think of reading this thread is this Tweet from Progress City: "Parents, if your six-year-old can't recognize any of the Muppets, that's on you." In other words, what happened to Family Movie Nights...

    Who else remembers the Wuzzles?

The thing that always blows my mind about "The Wuzzles" is that apparently there were only twelve-fifteen episodes ever made. It's crazy to think that such a huge part of my childhood was so short-lived. And not a single one of those episodes addressed why they all, regardless of hybridized...

Do they serve different beers at all 11 continents in EPCOT?

Then you're going to want to bookmark Party Through the Parks. As weird as it sounds, this is one of the best single-subject reference websites I've ever seen.

Could I have some opinions on Port Orleans French Quarter

The French Quarter is very nice. It's not as sprawling as the Riverside area of Port Orleans and you won't have to walk as far to get to the main building, pool, boat launch, etc. The restaurant is cafeteria-style and has a Mardi Gras theme. There is a nice lounge nearby that I think has live...

    Parking to access International Gateway

We like to use the Boardwalk lot since you can always say you're going to eat at one of their restaurants.

Dining at Disney post bariatric surgery

Whatever you do, make sure you get a note from your doctor or surgeon explaining your situation. I went to WDW two weeks after having my Gallbladder removed and everyone was extremely sensitive to my needs. Mind you this was a few years ago, but hopefully this advice still applies.

The Most Magical Way to Have a Baby??

It's Disney World! Even the busiest toilets are clean enough to do surgery in! As far as who should deliver the baby if for some reason the midwife is not available: The Dapper Dans - The more help the merrier, plus your baby would be sung into this world in four-part harmony! Wreck-It...

Where to go for an adults night out?

Il Mulino is a nice little hidden gem. One thing that makes it unique, and probably nicer for a romantic dinner, is that it's mostly adults eating there from what I've seen. (Yes, yes, I know. Let me assure everyone that I don't hate children. And, duh, I know it's Disney World. But there's...

    LeFou Brew is great!

We bought a "pint" of the LeFou Brew the other day. It's... not Butterbeer. Well, for one thing, Butterbeer didn't almost make me violently sick in the middle of the park... Typing on a phone is hard. :(

    less common activities/hidden magic

Consider the Keys to the World tour. We went last year and it was fantastic. We also rented a pontoon boat on Bay Lake and explored the former sights of River Country and Discovery Island. (Note the Bay Lake/Seven Seas Lagoon has the most interesting sights to see from a boat you pilot yourself...

Experienced Disney Parents: What is the best age for a first trip?

I like the philosophy that the Unofficial Guide editors have: "The Golden Age of Disney is around seven years old." (Seriously, at seven kids are usually tall enough to ride the good rides, are able to read the guidebooks so they can join in the "what do you really want to see" discussions...

Am I Crazy to Even Consider This Option???

Well if you're going to spend a week in the World without setting foot in a theme park, from all I've heard AKL Club level is the place to be. The dedicated AKL thread can give you much more information about this, but there's enough activities there to fill several days, including a special...

Official Fantasyland Expansion Q & A (Mickey gets evicted) PART II

Alright, I'll keep my fingers crossed for that. Mom's DVC magazine said the Grand Opening was sometime in early December but I suppose that's more of a ceremonial thing. I wonder if there will be a dedicated television special for it or something? Remember when they had an entire special...
