I'm renting a car and returning it to Avis before my cruise. About how much time will it take for me to go from the Cruise terminal (where I'll drop my bags off), go return the car and have Avis shuttle me back?

I just called DCL and they say not only Enchanted will be playing in the Buena Vista Theater but also National Treasure 2!

I guess the greater question is, how much of a price difference is it between renting and buying? If it's like $3, I may as well just rent but if Disney is marking up the rental a lot, it's worth it to buy one before I leave.

Does anyone know if Enchanted is going to be shown onboard? I'd rather save the $10 and see it on the ship but don't want to miss out on seeing it either.

I'm considering snorkeling at Castaway Cay. Should I rent the snorkeling stuff there or buy it before I leave? Is there a big price difference in snorkeling gear if I buy it at home?

Forgive me if this has been answered somewhere else, but is there a DIS meet somewhere at a day and time on board the cruise?

Just curious as to how people have fared with using their cell phone on the first day of the cruise. I've heard the ship hugs the Florida coastline and cell phone service fairly well. Question is, how long from the ship departing has anyone had cell coverage? Also, I know the metal bulkheads...

Thanks for the feedback. IM may be the best option for the time being as it's better than nothing (although I may go to an internet cafe in Nassau to use for a little while). I wonder if there are Skype competitor programs that aren't inhibited by Disney...

It's frustrating that they would block Skype. This is the first I've heard of a cruise blocking it. I used Skype on a Royal Caribbean cruise last year with success. I can't imagine that many people would try to use it (or know how) to really impact things.

I'm using Avis and if you use codes (try Mousesavers.com for a listing of codes), I've found it to be cheaper than the Bus transfers.

According to the Passporter's Guide to Disney Cruises, they say "VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) services are reportedly blocked on the Disney ships". Has anyone been able to use Skype onboard the ship succesfully lately (last 3-6 months)?

I'm going to be doing this for my cruise in December. I figure I don't want to miss my cruise because of ice or snow delays so I'm flying in the day before so I don't have to be worried.

I'll be on the cruise :)
