There have been no reports of being denied the ability to upgrade other than some issues with the price of the upgrade. Some CMs bridging tickets and some not. I will be upgrading UCT tickets in a week, 6day MYW hopper, fun, NE to Regular AP. I will report back on my experience.

We just got back and stayed in building 7 of little mermaid. It is about 5minutes to Animation Hall from the LM room. We didn't feel the walk was to bad the boys loved going through the pride land (Lion King) a couple times a day.
