    Tampa area suggestions--any locals?

I've rented a condo that sits on the beach but overlooks the intercoastal waterway, so we're excited about that. However, I realized after renting it that I had looked at my calendar wrong:guilty:, and we're going to be there over MLK Jr. weekend. That seems like it will cause crowds at Busch...

    can't get ticker to post

I'm having trouble getting a ticker from MouseHouse Magic to post in my signature. As far as I can tell, I haven't broken any rules (image size is okay, lines okay, etc.), but neither the HTML or the UBB code from MHM is working. Suggestions? I've had to add spaces between sections of the code...

    Tampa area suggestions

Grammy has decided she really wants to go to Busch Gardens before she gets too decrepit  to enjoy it, so we now have a condo in Indian Rocks Beach for the week of Jan. 13. We know we're going to BG, and we're planning on seeing the Florida Aquarium, and then we've decided we can't...

    Sanibel island

It's been years since I was there, but I recommended it to a British friend a couple of years ago, and he said it was just as I described it, so I guess it hasn't changed much! Very wild, very beautiful--but remember, this is a sheller's paradise, so if you're looking for white sands like the...

    OT: rentals in Bradenton area?

This is slightly off-topic, because it's not precisely the Orlando area, but it's relatively close. We have family in the Bradenton area, but my aunt has just moved to a tiny 1-BR mobile home, and Mom's cousins now live in an RV, so there's no room for guests. My folks would love to try their...

    Disneyland Water

We were in DL March 30 through April 3, and the water was great. Cold (or at least cool enough), and tasted like home. Florida just has bad water because of their minerals & such. California's was fine. I drank lots of it, and in Florida, I never hit the water fountains. Bleagh! :crazy2:

Opinions on the New Goofy Playland

We just got back from DL and I never saw a playland. Where is it? I think my DS would have really enjoyed it, since one of his top 5 favorite things to do at DL was chasing a pair of ducks around the courtyard outside the Village Haus!

Rides for a 15 month old

DS was 17 months old in WDW and 21 months old in DL, so here's his list: *Autopia (he could drive this time!) *Mr. Toad (thought he was driving) *Peter Pan (okay, not wow) *Jungle Cruise (LOVED it!) *Tiki Room (depends on your kid--the storm may scare some, but DS loved the whole show, even in...

    Scared of LAX

We just returned late Mon. night from our trip to DL, and we flew in & out of LAX. I was a little worried, too, but decided we could handle it. It was easy! The signs are good, the people are nice--we were traveling with a toddler, so security took a little longer to get everything unloaded...

Any Disney movies to get into the mood?

I just found this DVD at Toys R Us, so it's possibly been re-released. I only wish they hadn't "rapped" up "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Da" on Splash Mountain! Other than that, it's been fun, and DS (nearly 2) has watched it about 3 times already.

Will a WDW vet be disapointed with DL?

I too am a fairly frequent WDW visitor, planning my first trip back to CA since I was 4-ish. We leave tomorrow night! We were just at WDW in early Dec., so we're really excited about getting to experience both places close enough in time to see the differences between them. I don't think I'll be...

A Very Merry Trip Report Day 2—Dec. 4, Magic Kingdom & MVMCP

Alex, no I haven't been able to post photos yet. Cathy, I'm sorry to hear you had the same experience at MVMCP. I think if we're back at WDW in Dec. some year, we'll probably go back, but we'll probably ask about 40 different CMs for info, and then we'll try to do whatever we want anyway...

    A Very Merry TR Day 1, 12/3--Travel & Planning

OhMari, as far as I know, the beach doesn't jog out much. From most of Cocoa Beach, you can see the Cape Canaveral launch towers (a couple of them, anway) to the north, so I guess if a cruise ship comes in right by them, it would be visible. We've always just seen the ships in Port Canaveral...

A Very Merry Trip Report Day 7—Dec. 9, Extra Magic Hour MK, tea, Epcot

To Coldpony (and anyone else who's interested): The PW kids were a little loud, but always polite, except the first night or two. They would walk along the sidewalk outside the rooms late at night (like 2 in the morning!) and knock on the doors and the windows. After I made a couple of...

The Plan So Far--what do you think?

Just FYI--we can rent an intermediate car for $50 less than taking a shuttle. I've got a great deal through Costco, and this way, we can work in a grocery stop and maybe a quick hour or two at the beach. I was originally going to use one of the shuttle services, but since we're already paying...

The Plan So Far--what do you think?

I realize we're going to be scrambling a bit here, but this is the best general plan I can come up with now, being new to DL and all. I am planning on heading back to the hotel each day for a break when we need it, so although we're hitting things pretty hard, we should have some rest...

Cast: Me, Elizabeth (39); DH, Art (49); DS, Stuart (17 mos); MIL, Marlene (70-ish) Setting: All Star Music, Dec. 3-11 We get up and head to Epcot for opening, since we want to ride Soarin’. After a quick breakfast in the room courtesy of the food court (MIL & I usually get ready to go...

Cast: Me, Elizabeth (39); DH, Art (49); DS, Stuart (17 mos); MIL, Marlene (70-ish) Setting: All Star Music, Dec. 3-11 Our original plans were for Art & Elizabeth to go to MGM’s Extra Magic Hour in the morning, and then pick up Marlene & Stuart to head to Animal Kingdom. We decide we don’t...
